Hi there, after checking out various studios and some efforts to 'modernize' yoga, including the Bikram method, I always seem to return to the yoga that concentrates on the 'self' through postures and meditation... via the Sivananda approach. If you are in any major city..there should be a location you can check out. I've been practicing yoga for about 13 years.

Hello Regg.....Most people tend to take Hatha Yoga. Most of the time yoga is physically demanding esp. as you progress from a beginner to an intermediate and soo on.
As far as spiritually it depends on what kind of poses you do. And its different from person to person. You might have to experiment before you find what you are comfortable with. If you mean meditation...I do it mostly on my own not thro' classes. Sorry I can't help you much. Ironpen introduced a website yogajournal.com .......that has lots of info. on both yoga and meditation. It I also think can help you find yoga instructors in your area.
