lol
ok yea i'm still here, i'm tryin to leave (!!!!!!) But my mamoo and mumani won't let me go! we should exchange phone numbers and get together or something before i leave atleast, or i'll feel bad that you took the time out to help me and i didn't even meet up with you let alone take your suggestions. Oh oh ! Speaking of which, we went to tahoora for halwa poori which was very yummy, and i went to the yorktown mall that doesn't have a mac or shiseido counter which was very annoying.. but it had nice sales so that wasn't all that bad. Write back soon! :)

OK Now that i have some more time on my hands I can maybe have an actual "conversation" hehe :) I'm the official chauffer which is why I don't have any time of my own. I didn't mean to make myself sound important or anything in my last post just so you know hehe. Ahh.. now where was I.. Oh yea, my aunt and uncle just moved here last year and work like mad so they've never been to the hockey arena. They've made an appreciation day for me tomorrow so I get to do whatever I want lol Woo Hoo!! The navy Pier Idea sounds really nice.. could you tell me more about that? I'll try checking out the woodfield mall tomorrow too. I'm so excited to go to all these places now lol I know I sound pathetic but all I do is drive ppl to work and school and run errands all day so this is the most fun i'll be having in 2 months!! Thank you Perasian, you've made a tired chauffer very happy! :) (and if this sounds cheesy or anything it's cuz I just came back from 2 drop offs and have 30 mins until my next and it's 8:11 on a Saturday Morning!!)

Currently Navy Pier is celebrating Chineese New year with the dragon theme. They have the traditional costumes and Dragon dance. I think it would be a nice outing for cousins. And you may print out a $10.00 off parking coupon from their website.

PS: Entrance is FREE!

I didnt like the songs for RDB either. I guess music trend is changing. Not my cup of tea. Even songs for Bluffmaster were 'hatke' from my taste. Just liked the one that Abhishek sang "Right here, right now" rest were easy to pass.

There is a theatre in Desplaines that runs hindi movies. Until last week they had Bluffmaster and Dosti. But dunno if they are still running those...

Besides the Desi places there are lots more to visit. Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg is a great attraction for tourist.

Try SEVEN BERGS in woodridge. It has indoor ice skating

Planetarium in Downtown has good theatre shows (sky line, i believe it is called). I personally enjoyed the "Creation of the Universe".

We got Brookfield Zoo

We also have an Aquarium in downtown.

And ofcourse the Sears towers :)

really? Hot Wok is good? My Mamoo went there and said he didn't like it too much.. i'll have to arrange a family trip there soon.. I didn't like the soundtrack for rang de basanti.. infact i just listened to it once and tried returning it but kwick pantry won't take it back :(. I hope the movie is better though.. I really wanted to watch bluffmaster but i never got the chance, maybe i'll take the fam to watch rang de basanti.. isn't atif aslam in it too? (The paki guy that sang aadat). NE Ways.. umm i want to do fun stuff that i can take the cousins to as well w/out having to spend too much money cuz i don't have much on me right now and i don't want to bug my aunt and uncle for anything. Thanks for helping me out!! :)

The Hot Wok at Chicago is very VERY very popular :) PP wait for their turns to be seated.

Hmm..how about south indian food at Udupi Palace. They have a grand buffet including dosas for only $5.95 weekdays...

Tell me what would u like to do. There are Indian Cinema Houses. One is called Barrington AMC, that is close to HOT WOK. Its currently running RANG DE BASANTI

Use citysearch.com for some tips

Thanks for the suggestions but I think i'll PASS the belly-dancing place :-P, and I've heard of the hot wok in atl, i just recently learned there was another one that was located in chi but i'm not sure if it's good or not and haven't gotten the chance to go there yet. I'm familiar with the places on roosevelt cuz that's like 10 mins from where i'm staying so i go there a few times a week to get halal gosht lol. How far is Golf Rd from Roosevelt and is it faster to get there from 88 or 355? I've found it faster to get to roosevelt thru the backroads and if i must take the hw it's cheaper to go thru 88 cuz u only give one 80 cent toll, otherwise u gotta fork out 60 cents and then 40 and then another 60 and 40 on ur way back Bleakh! ( No, i'm not cheap, I don't have an I-Pass and I never have cash on me so I have to dig thru my pockets for change I don't have) ... any other suggestions? :D

There's also a Bombay Style Chineese Cuisine Restaurant called HOT WOK (also on Golf Rd). And I know there are some Desi-Belly dancing places around NAperville, but personally havent been there :)

Chicago has more and more stores popping up in the suburbs: Hoffman Estates (Golf Rd) and Lombard (Roosevelt Rd) has a couple of Desi places.

Depending on what you might want to do. If it is Food (yummy!), try Himalayan Restaurant in Niles or the Hot Breads for snacks on Golf Rd.
