Yeh the bike above is the one I ride now. I am considering adding a new BMW R1200. The old B-mer's are definitely geared towards being highway bikes, put me on a long stretch of highway and I'm in heaven. That being said, I live in downtown Chicago and this is what I take around the city during the warm part of the year. Luckily for the R series in the mid 70's there's still a good supply of olds parts out there as well as vendors fabricating new parts for these old bikes.

i had a 1980 yamaha seca 550. loved it. i want a old triumph bonneville, i test drove a bmw like the one pictured, was in great condition, but i want one for the city, its a great highway bike, but too floaty for the city, although i'm sure if you get used to it, its fine. love bmw drivers though, you guys are harDCore! if i had money i'd buy an old ducati between 350-550cc. they have them at a place called velocity in richmond. these guys also carry bajaj bikes. its like a bike museum.
