COLLECTIVE ARTISTS SHOWCASE TO BENEFIT KATRINA SURVIVORS
HOUSTON, TX ? On September 23, 24 and 25, the Silver House Theatre will host its first Collective Artists Showcase to benefit the Hurricane Katrina survivors who have relocated to Houston.
We are all familiar with the catastrophic damage Katrina has wrought on Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Many survivors have lost their homes and livelihoods. Many will not be returning to their former lives and look to Houston for support as they begin again. In response to this tragedy, the Silver House Theatre will partner with individuals and performing arts organizations to provide shelter and relocation assistance to the survivors who are making Houston their new home.
The Collective Artists Showcase will not only provide hope to the dislocated, but it also creates a means for Houston?s performing arts community to come together as a whole. The showcase will consist of performances from Houston?s theatre companies, spoken word collectives, dance troupes and musicians for it is only as a collective that we can truly make a difference.
The showcase runs September 23, 24 and 25 at 8pm at the Silver House Theatre (1103 Chartres, Houston). The Silver House Theatre asks for a minimum donation of $10.
