So basically...NY'ers are kinda like watermelon...hard on the outside, soft on the inside.

And cali'ers are like kiwi...soft on the outside, soft on the inside.

Good stuff...I'm hungry for some fruit salad now!

baltinena - lol...dude for real. Cali ppl are super duper uper friendly. It's cool. A change from the stuck up chicago suburb folks.

I just hope NY is all I expect it to be. I'm preparing myself not to expect super nice ppl, but rather alot of just everything else.

I heard they have halaal hotdog stands and whatnot. Is that true?

blues - i envy you....you are seriously making me drool. I would never leave San Diego if I were you. But I guess we all need a change.

I'll be honest...I'm looking to call a new place my home for the next year or two...I just need to get out of Chi-town. Been here all my life, I need to see what else is out there. Obviously I gotta to to NY for that conference (which btw you should totally go), but I'll be looking to see if it is habitable. Who knows if the trip is temp or perm. );

My cousins will be moving to San Diego, so I'm considering visiting them to see what life might be like over there. I would love to never again have to wear socks or shoes in fact. Always in sandals...ahhhh! (H)

I went to Dallas...sorry I would not recommend that place. Everything closes the min the sun goes down! Very boring city. :(

I'm not a huge sheesha smoker, but when I'm on vacation, I wouldn't mind chillaxing a bit and hit the pipe.

Next question: if i'm there for a weekend, what is the average toursit budget there for a wholesome weekend?

- dinner
- going out
- touring the city
- cab fairs
- subway fairs
- "I've visted NY, and all I got was this dumb t-shirt" t-shirt cost

steinway is in queens. i dont know if its in astoria or near astoria... balti would be able to tell u that. but if u dont mind paying the price hikes. then Horus is ur best bet
