I have been given a choice to pick a class to advance my interests in CS field by my office. I want to see wut you guys think is an advanced:

-Certification in financial markets.
-certification in unix,network,security,marketdata.
-certification in project management,systems management.
-certification in consultancy (management,SAP,CRM,ERM..).

So put your 2 cents down now and don't retract.

Comptia Security+ is rapidly increasing and holds alot of weight in the industry. So does the PMP if you want to do PM, but before you do the PMP it may make sense to take the CompTIA Project+. It'll prepare you well.

Hmm ... 2 cents:
1st cent: certification in project management,systems management.

2nd cents: I've recently been exposed to a few new venues, including consultancy and project management. Senior managers are moving towards the latter, earning their masters degree and aiming to attend seminars on related events on project management.

May Allah give you tawfeeq in whatever you choose.

Asra, what is this information based on? Survey of businesses? Something else?

I'm in the Certification industry, and I know what excels and what doesn't do so well. Technical standards are pretty big (A+, Network+, Security+) and then Project+ isnt too far behind. I have yet to hear on Financial markets. The next two hot ones are Convergence and RFID...

Yeah I heard project management always brings raises and promotions. Dunno what it is exactly though, except scamming people under you to do all the work while you take the credit. Or is there something else involved?

take the route, and you'll do good. There's alot of demand for quality project mgmt personnel. If you are ceritified, even better..
