Da pukhtano pukhlay
Every body here ever had chaplee kabab or chicken (white )kurhae specially in peshawer or any whereelse. If any body knows about any pukhton restaurent in USA can tell how did they like it.
Ali, that sounds like a plan - as long as you can keep it together when you get questioned...btw, I'm kidding! I'm seriously not a crackhead, even if it appears that way...:P
Kaniza, I'll be crossing the border again tomorrow to go home for the weekend - can you guess what I won't be taking with me? It's usually not a bad experience though - the only problem I had was this one time when customs did a quick check thru my bag and found green tea leaves in a ziploc bag that my dad brought with him from Pakistan. Lol, I told them what it was but they sniffed it anyway to make sure. Lesson learned: don't carry substances that look like weed in a ziploc bag when crossing any borders!
Kaniza, just make sure you're not carrying any fruits or vegetables with you when you plan on going to the US - you won't get clearance if you do. Everytime I cross the border from Canada into the US, the first question they ask me is whether I have any fruits or vegetables on me - you would think they would ask if I had any weapons or drugs instead...
one more thing Abshaw and moon. They make the kabab in big pan during frying the kabab the cook get all wet of sweating and he drys of his face with is hand and then with same hand he makes kabab. that adds more taste in it !!! hahahahhaa
The best chaplie kababs are available at "Bukhso Pull" near Charsadda. The best kababs in Peshawar can be found at "Jaleel Kabab House" near Jinnah Park and Naz cinema. Also, on the road from Peshawar to Nowshera "Taro Jaba" is has excellent places, the best one is that of Rambell Ustaz.
If you want to go to a rather classy place, then there is no place like Salateen in Peshawar, but make sure you go to the orignal Salateen neas Kisa Khwani and not the one on University road.
well now dont be forgetting the great bucket dish washer, all plates go in there and come out sparkling clean :), even though the water is only changed on daily basis in the bucket and they sometimes dip the plate in water only partialy :)
you'll never get the chapali kebabs to taste the way they do back home...you need all the flies, dirt, germs....thats what gives them that special taste...yummy... :P
scorpian..my mom makes jawar dodai and sagg all the time. i only know of one afghani restaurant near us but the food is different from what we eat in nwfp. the afghani food is similar to what my grandmother (who was uighar) use to cook.
