I know this is more community service related and should be in that village, but it is specifically for chicago and figured i would let people in chicago know. Try to get involved if you can because it would be a great showing to say to our chicago community saying "hey, we as muslims are not just concerned with just our issues, but want to better the community as a whole." The showing of interest will definetly go a long way in people's mind.

----------------------------------- ----------------

Over the last year and a half, IMAN has been working closely with various issues surrounding the Latino Day Laborer community and its struggle for dignified employment. IMAN?s goals with this campaign are
two fold: to organize and empower day laborers, and to mobilize Muslims around this issue.

As part of that work, IMAN has partnered with the Union Latina to learn how to effectively and legally advocate for the Day Laborers while working to improve upon unfair laws and policies affecting the lives of Latino Day Laborers across the city. If you are interested in becoming part of this dedicated team of IMAN volunteers committed to this issue please contact IMAN?s Latino Outreach Coordinator, Adalberto Madrigal:
[email protected]. Next week IMAN and the Union Latina will conduct an important training regarding this work.
