dc to md ride

going for a ride on sunday from adams morgan (dc) to maryland (south eastern part) anyone up for it? we meet at asylum in the morning. more details to come if people are into it.

mostly more "mature", "spirited" riders. we will have some beginners as well.

dora the ducati has seen better days lads, but alas i will get her the proper medical attention she needs soon.

i think the valve job is in the 4-500 nieghborhood, i just end up spending at least 1000 by the time a trip is thru. i only do them every 12,000 miles, so i don't remember exactly. but i go to the dealer, so i figure its a bit more anyhow, but things get done faster there since all the parts are in the other room.

>>>i am getting ready to drop 1000 bucks or so on the bike again for its 36,000 valve job and oil leak fixings.

so, merely out of curioisity what does a straight up GOOD valve job on a duc cost these days? nothing else... just the valve adjust.

i was quoted a ridculous sum by one of the premier duc outfits here in the midwest. rounded up an engine savant from work and we put to to bed the imposing myth surrounding the exotic sounding desmodromic valve train on my old 916.

sorry i missed friday, i had a show in charlottesville, va. how was it? the ride tomorrow leaves from asylum (18th and comlumbia) at 9:30 to meet at a starbucks in bowie? at 10:30. then from there we are going to sotheastern md, on the potomac side. it would be good to have you around, since you know the area so well.

i'm going road warrior today. darrel needed my upper fairing to pass inspection, since he has his high beam covered with that sweet body kit for his bike. so mine looks crazy with the frame exposed. but it will be fixed for the ride. i am getting ready to drop 1000 bucks or so on the bike again for its 36,000 valve job and oil leak fixings. thank god i just scored a high paying job.... but i guess its all going to getting my jeep and bike fixed up. waaaa. hhehehe.
