Did you like the movie?

There were SO many changes and I felt like it was so rushed. However, I must admit that the end graveyard scene was great. Also, the prefect's bathroom scene was good.

They could have at least gotten John Williams to do the music again. Ever since the 3rd movie the music has been sucking. Also, why did they introduce Barty Crouch Jr. all the way in the beginning?? That ruins the whole suspense of the ending! Where were Ludo Bagman and Winky!

There was very little character development for the champions. From watching the movie I would never have thought Fleur was snobby, Cedric honorable and Krum surly.

This was my least HP movie but I still loved it for being an HP movie! (if that makes sense)

Yea, this movie was done by Mike Newell and the last by Alfonso Cuaron. I liked the look of the first two the best. They were done by Chris Columbus. These last two look too much like indie movies...trying to be cool with that whole dark look and feel.

Yeah i'll agree with that. Ron is pretty good. Hermione is mostly good but there are some line where her lines come off as fake and forced. Harry has his moments. Prof McGonnagal is always awesome. I think a big part of the problem is the writing and directing. I dont think they did a good adaptation to film. An actor can only do so much with crappy lines and bad direction. Speaking of which, they keep switching directors. Didnt they have a different director for the last one?

I miss the old dumbledore...

I think now that it's been a few days since the release, my excitement has died down and I agree more with Calypso and can say that I was actually disappointed with the movie. But to add to your post, I think Ron does a great job acting - his expressions are priceless!

Also, like you mentioned, the editing WAS very choppy and they left out some key parts that are important in the next book.

This movie sucked!!! And I am as big a fan of potter as most. I took off work the day after the last book came out to read it...in one day...heh heh

Anyways...there was no continuity, horrible transitions from scene to scene. I cant stand the way dumbledore is depicted. He comes off as soo rash and unpredictable, not at all how i imagine him from the books. Again, so many good scenes and plot elements were left out as has been mentioned. The writing and screenplay sucks and so does most of the acting. The expressions on the faces are so fake. The only one that is good was Snape and Rita, I thought they did a good job, but too bad Snape only had like 4 lines. Good special effects and i liked the tone and atmosphere they setup in the movie, but thats all they had.

Hugely disappointed!

they took out SPEW!!!!

no winky, no dobby.... no wooly bladders!

what happened to hermione the activist...? she just came off as hermione the neurotic... did anyone else notice how her voice was always screeching everytime she spoke? i don't like hermione in the movies much at all anymore... she doesn't come off half as a smart as she's supposed to be

I'd put this movie as my 2nd favourite in the series so far. The first being the 1st movie. That just had more of a magical or wonder to it.

This one I liked mainly cause I like the story of the 4th book more than the 2nd and 3rd. I think given the time constraints, what was left in and what was left was well chosen.

Lord V, wasn't very scary though. At least not as much as I'd hoped.

Dumbledore really bugged, me. I like the original one the best. But really, I agree with Nabilay, he wasn't calm or collected. He didn't seem reverent, or old wizened wizard that everyone looks up to. He was just another old wizard.

The movie had a lot of humour that I really enjoyed. That was great and not expected at all by me. Not to this degree anyhow.

I KNOW!!!!...did you see how he tried to strangle potter at the goblet ceremony.....WTH is up with that...dumble dore is calm, collected, and always has a twinkle in his yee...this dumbledore just doesnt cut it....they are showing someone too eccentric and high strung...now the dumbledore rocked!

I would loved to have seen Dobby say "Harry Potter must find his wheezy!" when he was trying to tell Harry that Ron is at the bottom of the lake. That's the cutest line!

They better not mess up movie V. What's with this new Dumbledore anyway? He seems so high strung and not calm and collected at all.

I think the movie was excellent. We have to keep in mind that none of the movies will ever be as great as the books, and since a lot of editing was required to make it fit in an acceptable time alottment, the director did an amazing job by making it run smoothly from one scene to another. Though I agree the begining was waaaaay to rushed.
The nose is exactly how it was described in the book...slit like a snake.

the movie was obviously shortened i think last time too many ppl complain about the length and with all that going on in the book - this movie should have been at least 3 1/2 hours to cover all the parts. I think it covered the MAIN aspects of the book as well as it should i mean the movie cant take the place of reading the book so i think in this manner - JK Rowling will be selling more copies of book 4 since everyone is talking about what was left out.
Whats the deal with Voldermorts nose though? I didnt understand that part .
I think the best part was or at least the funniest was Prof. Snape knocking Ron and harry on the head - he didnt even have to say a word to instill fear in these guys !!

I thought the special effects in this one were better (esp when it comes to you know who) and the movie did flow, considering JK Rowling has been making each book longer as she goes on, any director would have needed to chop and take heat for what was chopped (winky is too minor). Cedric and Krum do come across but ya Fleur seems more sweet than snobby.
