Disappointments
Disappointments are like road humps,
They slow you down a bit but you enjoy
The smooth road afterwards.Don?t
Stay on the humps too long.Move on!
When you feel down because you
Didn?t get what you want, just sit tight
And be happy,because God is
Thinking of something better to.
No one can go back and make a brand
New start.Anyone can start from now
And make a brand new ending.
God didn?t promise days without pain,
Laughter without sorrow,sun without
Rain, but He did promise strength for
The day ,comfort for the tears, and
Light for the way.
They slow you down a bit but you enjoy
The smooth road afterwards.Don?t
Stay on the humps too long.Move on!
When you feel down because you
Didn?t get what you want, just sit tight
And be happy,because God is

And make a brand new ending.
God didn?t promise days without pain,
Laughter without sorrow,sun without

mamad, i don't like the what doesn't kill you makes you stronger line, only because it is hard to take when you feel half-dead...... :(
i prefer the 'On no soul do we place a burden greater than it can bear' quote from surah Al Mu'min?n . to put it in context it says:
"62 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged.
63 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,-
64 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! "
it seems to me, we're ungrateful when we have what we need in abundance, at times like this we forget to give thanks or arrogantly assume our blessings are down to us;
when we hit a hurdle we similarly forget to seek God's help
we also forget our duties - it says in the Quran or hadith (i forget where) that all good things are from Allah, bad things are sometimes linked to our responsibilities/ failure therewith (controversial i know but makes total sense to me)
also i believe those who are never tested are often not as mature/ hardy as those who have undergone 'trial by fire' (definition: "a test of one's abilities, especially the ability to perform well under pressure")
