Disaster Prone Cities

After the recent horrific natural disaster in the Big Easy (New Orleans), will you still want to move to a city which is susceptible to such natural disasters ? For people who are extremely well off, this might not matter, but for the middle class, it can be a big deal interms of loss of income, house, and relocation and re-establishment costs.

Other examples of such natural disaster prone cities are San Francisco (earth-quake central), some parts of Los Angeles, southern Florida (recently from where people have moved to Atlanta, North Carolina, etc., frustrated by the frequent hurricanes).

the only major quake line in CA that i know of is the San Andreas fault line which runs through San Francisco and can be potentially devastating.

Are you sure no earthquakes in SD? I have heard that Cali can split up from the US, that means SD will go with it, right ;) Yes it has lots and lots of hot men there :) I am moving to Cali ;)

San diego gets no earthquakes.

Its a coastal city, but well protected and above sea level. Excellent weather, top jobs, good arts and outdoor activities scene, beautiful beaches and pretty women !

WOW After what I saw on TV Media of the Horrific Disaster in New Orleans I would never want to plan to live in such a place.

Gosh it was scary enough just to watch, but to live it...Oh my.

I would avoid them thats for sure, most of my family live in Texas which is very prone to tornados. San francisco is so beautiful that I think I'd still consider having a holiday home there.
