DMT: Spirit Molecule - or drug?

This is the place of Wrong-yet-Right, right? Right!

Question / answer from my JE: What makes me Superman - Part II.

Q: (Freak_of_nature ) to cut a long story short, did you encounter some 'near death' experience?

A: Yes I did, FoN. And I have since discovered that near-death experiences bring with them the release of a compound held deep within the brain. Its called DMT, and it gets released, adrenalin-like, into the bloodstream at the moment the para-subconscious mind believes that death is eminent. In case death doesn't happen, it merely causes an NDE (near death experience - for those who are advanced enough to comprehend it). And in case death does come, then the universal understanding that comes with the insight this compound enables becomes a natural step, a progression, into the next step of our development as soul-full beings. DMT (I am reading the book) is also extractable from the skin of Bananna's and from the inner-back of frogs. It can also be constructed artificially, and therefore it falls under the classification of "drugs". Which is unfortunate, as my repeated NDE's left me prepared for absorbing much more of what I saw this last time I almost died. And I'd love to talk about it, but would first like to ask others, if anyone else has had near death experiences.. (or maybe I should also be true to my heart and ask if anyone has experienced DMT, I know doctors have administered it via IV's to help dying patients, and after that they either healed or died peacefully, but always with great wisdom coming from the experience.)

I also know that there are people who smoke DMT. Which is why I chose to post this here as well as in Sheesha Shack. "Terrence McKenna and The Spacetime Continiuum" is an album of one such amazing, transformative experience that blew my mind when I heard it the first time. Anyone know of McKenna? Anyone have the guts to come out of your shacks and share openly? This is with the neeah of learning and sharing. Don't be afraid.

lol, McKenna, I hear ya. Shulgin - is he a writer or a musician? I'll google him.. or do you have a good link or three?

Oh, and McKenna was a quack, don't listen to anything he ever said. Shulgin is a much more pragmatic and reliable source for information regarding psychopharmacology.

Prior to my conversion I pretty much worked my way through Tihkal and pihkal. There are NO answers in any of these substances. All I got from the sustained use of high-powered psychadellics is the worry of future neurological problems and regret over wasted time and money. Having said that I am more than happy to entertain questions regarding the use or property of these substances. It is a valid theory that a DMT experience may model something similar to an NDE, however the dosage of DMT may be well over the naturally occuring dose of the DMT analog that occurs naturally in the brain (much like Opiate use causes vastly greater concentrations of analogs to naturally occuring chemicals in the brain).

How can it be a drug when it exists within our brains, and gets released upon death? (Or at the time when the _sub_conscious mind believes that death is imminent..) That's what makes for NDE's, when supposed death doesn't materialize... (or person is brought back, for whatever reason..)
