Do you believe in Love at first sight?

Is love at first sight a reality or just a figment of our imagination?

According to me there is no love but only lust at first sight. How can you fall in love with someone you don't even know.

There are those who claim that their friends met, fell in love when they cast their eyes on each other and have been happily married for the last 7 generations.

Its a nice story to tell your grandkids but their friends did not love but lust for each other. Fortunately for them their lust turned to love when they actually got to know each other.

Am I being cynical or do the fellow Naseeb'ers agree with me. Thoughts?

Mufaddal, I actually do agree with you. One knows when he/she is attracted to someone. Ever heard of making a first impression? Maybe people should'nt refer to it as "Love at first site" but when two people like each other from the get go, there is a good chance of a relationship or a possible marriage. You cannot even start any type of relationship with a person you are'nt atrracted to physically. For example, my co-worker mentioned to me that his sister ( who is married) told him when she first she met her husband to be, she thought he was the one. There have been many instances where people have felt that way. Maybe lust can turn into love or people just get a different felling when they come across the person who is right for them. I guess its hard to explain. Love at fist site my not necessarily be true but I do like the concept of it because I'm a hopeless romantic.

everyone seems to be on the same page. thats too bad i was hoping somone would disagree with my views... and Labs there are lot of men who will admit to being infatuated. and elmoe there are quite a few people who do question the existence of love.

I agree with the concept of infatuation at first sight. I bet that the stories people have of love at first sight that work out are do to the coincidence that the two people actually have things in common.

Its not love, its lust. Love at first "sight" -> sight as in seeing some one --> brings up the physical side of things. You havent talked to the person yet, and you dont even know whether you two will be compatible. How can you be in "love"?

Proma: I agree with you....I fell in love at first sight with my IPOD. Boy, I just couldnt get my eyes of the IPODs...I want more but ended up settling with one :( Now I am in love with the Bose speakers that come with them..hahahaha...Speaking of love at first sight with a person, I think thats just bogus..its called INFATUATION or LUST...It hasnt to me and I dont think it ever will since I dont believe in it ;) Some people might fall in love with one another when they meet for the first time because they might believe in it...

I honestly think it is infatuation at first sight. I would agree with you that you cannot have love w/o knowing the person. I also agree with megamax on all the things a relationship needs to go through to prove true love.

Agree with Megamax except for the "love at first BITE" bit! :)

infatuation at first sight maybe.. - do more men admit to this than women..? if you can build on the realationship after the first meeting.. then great.. otherwise it's just a passing phase

Love at first sight is very normal. but you can't say it long lasting immortal love. Love needs tests, requires sacrifices, demands respect, and provide faith. Now its up to both that how many SIGHTS they need to get this done...... however , i was in a resturant couple of weeks ago and the food was awesom. NOW that was love at first BITE.
