Does being TALL = having oversized FEET


Most people who are tall also have big feet which makes sense because it would seem that taller people need bigger feet to help keep them well balanced. Everyone that I know who is tall, has trouble finding shoes that fit their size. This seems to be even more of a problem for girls since most girls like to have a billion pairs of shoes and nice dress shoes and heels just don't come in larger sizes, unless you go to 'special' stores.

Well, it just so happens that at 5 feet 9 1/2 (or roughly there, I have never quite measured myself, although I think I should) I have size 7 1/2 feet, which is the average foot size for girls. I think its great because I can borrow dress shoes from my mom, and even some of my friends who are a good 6 inches shorter than I am. Is there anyone esle who has small feet for their height? Or am I the ONLY real freak out here :P

Hey Farah... Jalilaboojalil: Chinese foot-binding was such a scary practice #: I'm surprised that those women could walk at all... I'm even more proud of having longer feet now!

i wear 9 to 10 depending on the shape of the shoe. but i have realy tall girl friends who wear 11,12, and 13...astaghfurallahy but its SO not cute. they look like giants and they have to get it special ordered.

Awww man......that bites to have MUCH bigger feet for your height if your a girl...... kheir, i guess if one thinks about the person who has NO feet.....it all puts it into perspective :( Hmmm.......Alhamdullilah for having feet big or small! P:

LOL at gloves! It's certainly cold enough to warrant them round here... My head is pretty much in proportion with my height, and the "outstretching the arms" thing is a fairly good measure. Wow, where did ya get all that research from?

Rare....hmm...now that is a word I prefer, thanks foxglove. My brothers on the other hand like to use the words weird and freak :P

You're quite rare, Saima :) At 5'8"/5'9", my feet are a British size 8, which is an American / Canadian size 10 1/2. This sounds huge, but I'm not a bigfoot - they look long and thin in reality. It isn't really a problem, cuz although I have a passing interest in shoes, I'm not a fetishist like many... I prefer hats :P

OH btw......for you punjabi speakers, you may have heard of the saying, " Sir vudai sardarahn dai, paun vudai gumwaran dai" LOL!.......I tell myself this ALL the time to convince myself that I am NOT in fact a freak for having smaller than normal feet for my height. Just to translate it for the non-punjabi peeps, its something along the lines that leaders have a big head and the illiterate have big feet........ its funnier in pujabi :P
