Don-E@Jazz Cafe 25th Nov
Don-E, not a very well know artist, but has a few popular tracks for the 90's. The first I heard of him was when I went to "Lynden's Wish", To me he looked like a teenager, 19 tops, nice voice, loved his style and passion.
When I heard he was at the Jazz Cafe the following week I just had to go. I did a bit of research and found out he had 2 albums from before, which meant he had so be in his mid 30's.
Anyway I have to say I am impressed by him, and will def buy his new album. If your a fan of soulful music like maxwell then I'm sure you'll like this.
I didnt like his backing singers, they were lovely to look at but live their voices sounded to shrill. The vocalist supporting Don-E at the Lynden's Wish event sounded better. I loved his little keyboard tube thing (tube goes into mouth and makes voice sound different), also used by black street, I dont know what its called.
Fav tracks performed
- Rising
- Good thing going (not on album, classic regga track
- Unbreakable (also not on album)
- Bus stop
The funniest part of the show was near the end, when Don-E suddendly disappeard off stage, all the musicians and vocalist looked confused as it was so abrupt, then before they couls follow him off he dashed back on for an encore.
