Donnie Dorko
Who here enjoyed watching Donnie Darko?

but i know donnie lifts the mood.
Its about a guy, Donnie, who finds himself apart from everyone else. He is undergoing mental treatment for his special thoughts.
In the movie, we see how an imaginary friend of his defines his life. We see aspects of time travelling and psyhcological warfare in his internal world.
And a sacrifice he makes up at the end defines human nature at its best.
( i hope i didnt give anything away ) :)
I jsut bought it, im so excited. Had to share the happiness.

but when it comes down to it, islam is much more important and i feel strongly about getting the right image out there. not to mention wearing hijab keeps me strong in my faith.
i have this white hjiab that has sparkly things on the edge, and i wore it once and somebody thought i was a princess!! lol i could totally go with that...

there are plenty of rednecks where i live. it is not exactly farm land, but its not a big city either. the town i live in is population 15,000. i am literally the only muslim there. i often get people staring at me, but most i encounter at work are simply curious about what i wear and my religion etc. some are yes, ignorant, and think things like i cant understand english, or my husband forces me to wear the hijab... haha im not married.
the town i went to school in is a bit larger -- population 50,000. since its a university town, there is quite a lot of diversity there, so it's not as bad. and there is a very nice, fairly large muslim community there as well. still there are ignorant people though.
but alhamdulillah, ive never heard of any problems for muslims in this area, and even in the few days after 9-11 my neighbours told me they will support me if i have any problems. so alhamdulillah.
i like jason schwartzman, and i loved rushmore... but he would have been TERRIBLE in donnie darko!
so glad it was jake. :D
Najla, where art thou ?
But times will tell. I think the british public overall, is more educated ( its a small country, compared to usa), so we have more people fighting for us.
Inshallah, that will be the case.
O yes, Jake rocked! Jason no no no!
I say layhna , i think he was a very likeable character. He was very alone from the world, in all aspects. the mad world, what a song. i love it.
I was trapped in central london all last night, spend the night at my university. i missed kings cross by about 10 mins before the bomb went off. shukar hay may theekh hoon.
