dont go to this place
Theres a restaurant in Mile End that I went to this week. Its called Halilano, formerly know as Ankerboot. I have been there before when it was called Ankerboot and the food and the service were excellent.
It was my collegues leaving do on Monday so we all went along. Firstly the floor downstairs was really dirty so we went to sit upstairs. Half the items we wanted to order were not available, the juice machine was broken so there were no fresh juices. So we chose other items.
The service was very slow, we waited ages for our meal, and when the food did come, some were the wrong dish, every one got their food one at a time, so no one got to eat together, and my dish arrived last, after an hour and a half, and by that time everybody had eaten. I didnt eat it and sent it back.
I was so annoyed. My friends didnt really like their food either. too much pepper in the sauce. It was really sad cos were not going to see my collegue again as she will be working far away. Our evening was spoilt, i went home hungry and the Manager still wanted us to pay full price for the meal.
In the end he took off the price of my dish (which i didnt eat) and service, charging ?60, we paid ?50 and left. The place is ideal if you just want a sheesha, but for dinner and good service not good.

The Bengali curry houses in that area are really bloody awesome, so I surprised that you opted for Italian.
Thanks for the warning though.
