Draft Updates...

hmmm... What the he11 were the 'Skins thinking trading their '05 3rd rd pick and '06 1st and 4th rd picks for a measly 25th pick in the '05 first-round!?!

Texans did good getting Philip Buchanon from the Raiders for their own '05 2nd & 3rd rd picks. Anytime you can add a proven starter who has an impact on the game week in & week out... gotta go for it!

Just a year ago, the Raiders were often w/o many draft picks and had to hit the free-agency market hard, leaving a big gap in skill between the veterans/starters and the reserves. Often positions wouldn't even be competed for in training camp! This year, they actually got ample picks to build a balanced team.

Any other thoughts? Feel free to add any new trades, predictions, and info on players!

Great points guys. And you can even tell how Surtain's INT number's were down last year since The Fins lost Ogunleye last season.

i dunno, while mcpherson has had some past disgressions, he was also 19 at the time..gotta cut him some slack...it's not like he was lawrence philips beating on his g/f or even moss (getting kicked out of two schools). In addition, from what i read, it sounds like his home life was actually fairly normal and he made one huge mistake and then has kept his nose clean. i'd risk a 2nd rounder on him...btw, like the chiefs trade for surtain, they desperately needed a shutdown corner (though i don't know if he'll be one anymore with the minimal pressure they put on the passer)

Was it necessary to use 3 seperate posts on Clayton???

McPherson is playing unbelievably in the Arena League for Steve DeBerg's team and after all didnt an arena league QB win an NFL MVP and Superbowl. He is definately talented and looks more mature according to his interview on ESPN. A second rounder is waaaaay too high to take him. He is still an extremely risky pick - butI would like to see a team take a chance on him. Personally I think he will go as high as the 5th round.

Playmakers can make an avg. team a contender!

What's your thoughts on Adrian McPherson? I'd take a chance on him, the talent is too much to ignore. Have a zero-tolerance policy on him for any discretions, use a 2nd rounder on him and just go w/ it. Reminds me alot of the chance the Steelers took on Kordell Stewert, also 2nd rounder.

Yeah but htey need that stud receiver. They could get Troy Williamson from NC State. He's a speedster though.

Raiders!!!!!
Been busy past few weeks.. but after the barrage of moves make by Oakland in the past few days I had to come on. P. Buch is gone for picks, then Jolley moved for first rounder. My feeling is that AL Davis has bigger plans saved up his sleeve. Come Draft day you will see Oakland makin another huge move.. most likely involving Cwood to move up in the top 20 in draft. Im so pumped for the draft now before not having a first rd pick pissed me off.. but then again we Have Moss.

Raiders are having the best offseason by far.. they are just wheeling and dealing.

What? Don't you mean what the hell are the Jets thinking making that trade? Doug Jolley stinks!

What are the Raiders upto getting the Jet's 1st round pick which is 26th overall? Was it worth it to moveup 12 spots from 38th? (pulling trades like this off and the 'Skins/Broncos one... I'd personally want to wait till draft day and see what guy is even available- who's dropped down or who's already been taken!?!)

I've seen C.Benson play in person for past 3-4 yrs. Reminds me of the Giants running backs back in the day. Vikes going for Edwards would be a nice fit, especially for the NFC North and of-course filling Moss's shoes. I'm hoping M.Jones lasts till the Steelers, but Pitt' will probably go w/ a CB or DL =/

Yeah, this Washington trade made no sense. First of all, they're giving up 3 different picks for this 25th overall. I heard the Jason Campbell stuff, but it's hard to believe that could be true and that they'd show their hand this early. I think they are either 1)setting it up to trade their two 1st-round picks for a top-5 pick, or 2) this trade was dictated by another team, that wants Washington's first-round pick(s) for some veteran. With that said tho, the redskins' moves defy all logic and who the frik knows what they're thinking. They don't even have one actual GM.

Yea weirdly i heard the same thing this morning on a Cleveland sports radio show bout the Skins interested in Cambell, yesterday after reading articles their need is at WR and DB, and without even reading articles they do need help at WR and DB so should be interesting...i dont believe anything the Skins say to the media lol, earlier in the day on Tuesday all the reports were saying they will not trade their pick then boom, they make a deal with the Broncos...the Skins are unpredictable and seem like a team that will do wahtever to get who they want, so who knows they may even trade again on draft day to get a top 5pick since they do have 2first rounders this year...

I agree on Buchanon. Hell of a punt returner but he gets burned all the time by receivers cuz he bites on the fakes too much. Also, not sure if they even needed him in that secondary with Dunta Robinson and Aaron Glen. I guess Glen's going to the bench or he's gone. Anyway, how do you know the Redskins are going for Campbell Salim? He is real good and I think he can develop into a good NFL QB. And yes, Ramsey stinks! I'm not sure on Matt Jones man. What I am sure on is the Skins overpay for everything. They are like the wannabe's of The Yankees. Anyway, look for monster number from Collins this year. You bet your azzes he will be playing from behind with that putrid defense.

I cant believe the Redskins are so high on Jason Campbell at 25!! Is Ramsey really that bad? He has hardly been given the chance under Joe Gibbs. The ony thing I can think of is that they are trying for the White Randy Moss, Matt Jones at that pick. Skins gave up way too much and yet again the Broncos have screwed over the Skins. As far as the Texans, I believe they may have given up a considerable amount to a player that has yet to show up. He has yet to be the player he was in college and are betting on his upside. The Raiders better find some defensive help QUICKLY.
