'Dum Ki Biryani'
This is more a question, anybody knows where I can get good Hyd Biryani in SF bay area?
hey tariqtheindian you too? I have the same thing.. I only use my right hand for eating and writing... it turns out that I was supposed to be a lefty... but I can now write with both :)
i use two hands to break my roti.. i guess im not a purist.. its hard breaking it with one hand.. but good job! tariq i use to be left handed too.. they made me switch to my right hand when i was little.. isnt that mean?
While on the topic of using hands, I think I am a purist. I use only one hand even for breaking naan. I see people (even desis) using both hands to wring the bread and tear it.
tariq its good she whooped you into shape...it sunnah to eat with your right hand! But i have props for people you can function well with both hands....
LOL, my mom even talks in the hyderabadi lehja, which really confuses her family. She switches back and forth between Shaista Urdu, and hyderabadi dialogue, as does my Naani, who was born in Hydro.
go mehnaz's mom.. hehe.. for being paki.. i didnt know making biryani was such an intense thing.. i must see this.. i actually have a friend whose trying to force me to love hydro culture, but he hasnt succeeded yet.. saud.. i wanna see u doing sunnah at red lobster.. hehe..
pakprncess786, just know that hydros are extremely possessive of their biryani, it takes hours to make, and involves a special technique that no lucknowi or pakistani has ever understood. Well, except for my mom, she's a good daughter-in-law.
haha.. thats hilarious.. ive yet to see that happen at a restaurant.. i dont think its a hydro thing to eat with your hands though.. i thought it was just a desi thing.. i mean we do eat roti with our hands.. my little sisters eat rice dishes with their hands too.. sometimes.. hehe.. amermirza.. hmm.. have i been hydrofied yet.. naaah.. i dont think i can be.. i havent even been pakified yet and i was born paki.. haha.. yea but for sure.. the hydro tongue is completely foreign to me.. completely.. thatll take awhile.. :)
