salaam all, please check out tentdrive.blogspot.com.

this group is collecting money and physically having tents purchased and delivered through grassroots NGO networks in pakistan. they are getting tents to the more remote areas in the north that have as yet been inaccesible by international aid groups. each tent is approximately US$65.00. they have thus far already purchased tents to cover approx 200 pple.

again, the website is: tentdrive.blogspot.com (donations can be made through paypal.).

I'm already going to this event. I say, why wait to go to the event to donate, there are plenty of charities accepting donations and the need is here NOW. I suggest donating online ASAP and not waiting for the CAMP event to donate--which isn't till Sunday.

Additionally, I think we should urge our employers and/or schools to donate generously. Insh'Allah that should help.

Great! Let us know what your company says. I'm a law student, not working for anybody.

Yes we should! I wanted to do a fundraising Iftar but it's too much to handle on my own. I was thinking we could get some restaurants to donate the food, like Sabri, Usmani and Dehli Darbar (I'm pretty sure they would do it). We might even be able to get the hall for free (perhaps the new tahoora hall). If that doesn't work out we could do it at a Masjid or rent a place or at a restaurant. It turns out that CAMP is already doing a fundrasing iftar on the 23rd, so that's great. You can get the info at campnet.net

But if anybody is serious about helping out to organize a fundraising iftar or some other type of fundraising activity to help out the the earthquacke victims, please contact me.
