i was thinking about that too...why there's a stampede or a ghee fire or something that causes hundreds of pilgrims to die. what i hate the most is that the media siezes the story every year but you rarely see anything about Hajj itself and what a powerful experience it is. so what's left in ppl's minds but visions of millions of people trampling each other .

I know that one who dies at Hajj gets the status of a shaheed. Good enough as between the shaheed and God, but if the government or other authority is lax in guarding against stampedes like this under guise of, "Well if they die at least they get shahadah..." then I think we have a serious problem. I certainly hope it doesn't go down like that.

thanks for the well wishes aan...i am feeling better but had to forego going down to NC for my sister's baby shower this weekend cos fell so far behind at work...crap...btw, please do make sure to nip that shieet tonite, cos my flu or whatever i had started with my throat acting a lil funny too....

hey im sure you guys heard about the stampede AGAIN this year in Mina...can someone PLEASE explain to me why such a rich country that KNOWS 2.5 million ppl are gonna be in one place at the same time...could not make it more organized...they have the WHOLE year to plan and yet tragedies like this still continue to happen...whats the deal with that??!!!!

yeah this mid-week Eid thing really didn't sit too well with me. i had a work commitment in the morning which shouldnt have lasted as long as it did, so i missed eid namaz. and the milling-julling at the DC convention center which i kinda wanted to see. and i've had a flu all week so i just came home and went to sleep. did go to dinner with wifey and a friend...the only social thing i did all day.

maybe next year...

Eid Mubarak to all of you. Hope you all had lamb biryani. My mom made chicken and it turned out really bad. Something was wrong with it. Hope you guys had better luck.

it's soooo messed up n embarassing like really wheres the unity .....

2 people in the same department celebrate Eid on different days and the whole floor had a flood of bright spark Q's ....

Eid Mubarak!!...lol Ruby...aww go give her a hug or sumthing....if its of any comfort, i threw a shoe at my brother this morning cuz he was being an idiot and kept harassing me while i slept...lol....im not a morning person at all....

Tanveer, i agree 100%..its REALLY annoying...i got like 50 billion phone calls yesterday from ppl wishing me eid mubarak..and i was like eid mubarak to you too even though i wasnt celebrating yesterday!...its not fun like this...whats our frikkin problem!!....ah wells...enjoy the meat folks...im having nihari for breakfast in like 10 mins, chicken parm for lunch and biryani for dinner...wut wutttttt P:
