you have a point here.... one has mainly to be self-dependent. therefore, if hamas doesn't know how to play it well (hope they would), we'll be lost. despite of everything, i don't think foreign aid will be totally cut. may be retracked but not totally cut.
nevertheless, the main problem with foriegn aid is that it not only ends upp in PA officials' personal bank accounts, it also ends up in donors' pockets as well under the fat salaries international consultants take here in palestine. so it's minkum wa ilaykum wa salamu 3alaikim !

what u have said is definately rights guys. i even know many christians who voted for hamas cause wanna c some change.
many expect to have amjor internal positive changes but expect deterioration in foriegnn aid...
but all are shocked one has to admit and u could feel it while walking in the streets of ramallah. u even could hear jokes flying here and there about the whole situation and people's expectations from the new PLC..
hopefully things will change to the best

for me it was a little surprise that Hamas won, but when we see what happened in the last months and years it is not a wonder that they won the elections...the ppl in the occupied territories are sick and tired of the whole situation...they need a change...the world was just watching but not really acting....the palestinians still suffer, there is no work, poorness, the wall makes their life more worse than before but no one of the western countries tries to solve the problem cause than they have to put pressure on the israelian government and that they would never risk (especially the USA and Germany)...hamas promise to help the poor ppl to make the economy better and that is that what the palestinians want...they want out from their poorness and the unhuman live in their own country and just have freedom...with fatah it was not possible, on the contrary the ppl say that they were corrupt...Allahu a3lam if that is true...ppl say now with Hamas on top the peace negotiations are stopped...in my opinion there was not really a peace negotiations which made the palestinians life better...removing the settlements in gaza is not a sign of israel that they really want freedom, cause they removed them from gaza, while building new settlements behind the huge illegal wall...most palestinians cities are surrounded with settlements...these settlements were built during the peace negotiations and till now they built and make new settlements for all the jews who want to come in "their" land...cause they are welcomed...the more the better ! ... i am not a fan of hamas nor fatah...i would just make my own party :-) ... Allahu a3lam shu beseer fi falasteen...kheir inshAllah...Allah yesa3dhum...yalla salam i wrote enough and my english is near zero now...
