I am in my last year of residency, and am in the process of looking for both a one-month international elective and a posting for next year (thinking of msf, imc, etc.)

Does anyone out there have any advice of a good resident elective that is not bench-research oriented?

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into the Johnson and Johnson award, but it seems the deadline passed in March. (Too bad I don't get to join your team in Russia!)

Where all have you been to?

If you are seriously looking into it, I have contacts in some places where I have worked/been previously invited to. These include Pakistan, Japan, Central Africa, and maybe some other countries.

Also look into Yale-Johnson and Johnson international health award. I know they have one for the residents. I have that award (faculty award) to go to Russia next year, if you want to apply for it and join the team.

Or to Pittsburgh for some ID research, lol.

come to LA and do some immunology research w/me. JK.
