emergency call on tube

I was sent the following via email.....thought i'd best past it on

If you travel to work on the tube please note the following information:

If your mobile phone has no signal (if you are in a tunnel) if you dial

112 it will divert to a satellite signal and puts you through to the 999

Call Centre.

All phone companies have signed up and as it is a satellite service it

also gives them a trace to you if you do not know where you are.

Please forward to people you know.

CHOTS/SAHA i was wondering if it might be worth posting this up in the 'london crew' village. I'll let it upto you guys to decide.

someone sent me a mail saying 112 is the international emergency code... even if your phone is locked it will go through to your local emergency services.. not sure about the diverting to satellite bit... try 112 on your phone when it's locked (don't press call obviously)
