Emotional Pitfalls?

www.themodernreligion.com

Fellow villagers, please click on the link provided and read this very interesting article about Islam's take on emotions.

"Emotion can cloud a person's logic, distort his understanding of reality, and leave him indecisive.

It can make a person declare permissible what Allah has declared impermissible, and vice versa. This is exactly what many leaders of today have done, and thereby left the fold of Islam by legislating by other then Allah's Laws. This is precisely what the other religions have done, and thereby incurred the Wrath of Allah."

Do you agree or disagree?

I have definitely heard that doing anything like plucking eyebrows, waxing, cutting (head) hair...basically anything to beautify ourselves beyond what Allah mian has naturally given us...is gunnah. I can't quote a source; I wonder if someone else can verify the information and quote a source.

A lady once told Ibn Abbas that his wife plucked her eyebrows, which incurs the curse of Allah. He told her to see his wife for herself and confirm this. When she returned having seen no signs of such plucking, he remarked "By Allah, if she had done so, I would have divorced her."

Does anyone know more about this ? like is it gunah for ladies to do their eyebrows ? And if a married woman does her eyebrows and her husband doesnt mind her doing that, he will also be part of that gunah ?

That is why the heart and mind is always in confilct. Emotion takes over just like stupidity at times. We are blinded not by love but by emotions. We do not behave as we feel, we feel as how we choose to behave..
