EPISODE III SUCKED

man episode 3 blew.... from Anakins wooden acting...to the awkward and totally chemistry-less love dialogue....to that HAPPY DRAGON or whatever Obi Wan was riding..(he looked like atrayu ...spelling??....from neverending story) .....and finally in the end when Vader finds out that his wife is dead he yells NOOOO!!!! how corny and trite was that....in fact the whole movie was one 3 hour long cliche

Harris, you are right about everything you said. I agree with your criticisms, but I still loved the movie for some weird reason! I usually don't like 2D characters and bad writing, but I make the exception for Star Wars. Maybe my love of the original trilogy is tainting my view.

Here is an excellent passage from a
review of the film, written by James Berardinelli,
which reflects exactly how I felt at the end of the
movie, and the aspect of the movie that affected me
most profoundly:
"It's necessary to say a word or two
about Darth Vader. After all, Revenge of the Sith
shows us the birth of one of the 20th century's most
iconic villains. By avoiding excessive reverence,
Lucas makes the first appearance of the black mask and
costume a moment of profound sadness. In that moment,
we aren't so much experiencing the emergence of Vader
as we are seeing the final death throes of Anakin.
And, while there's an admitted thrill to hearing the
voice of James Earl Jones, the content of some of
Jones' lines is unlike anything we have previously
heard from the voice-box of Vader. Not all eyes will
be dry by the end of Revenge of the Sith. It has an
emotional kick that no Star Wars film other than The
Empire Strikes Back has achieved."

Was all that detail in the book of the episodes? Plus the movie could get pretty long depending on how much detail you want to put in. =/ I felt the movie did a good job of Wrapping up and connecting the series together. The reason the first 3 episodes were not made first were because they do not have any of the action that the middle 3 episodes had.
