Hi , I'm here in australia. We don't have ETP. When is it starting in the UK?

ETP will be easy for the public. GPs will just tell them to get their scripts from any pharmacy. We're the ones who are going to have to be educated and update our software/hardware to comply with the contract. As usual, the pharmacists end up being trampled on... :*

slightly different across the border here as the new contract doesnt start until april 2006. But no news how it will actually work! and its the general public that will need the most educating on this one!!!

Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions

Its an initiative that the UK govt has been trying to implement...allowing GPs to send prescriptions electronically to any retail pharmacy in the country.

It was meant to be in place by the end of year ... somehow I don't think that this is going to happen :p
