Every think how easy it is to kill someone?
as physicians/future physicians we've found ourselves in many situations where it would be SOOOO easy to accidentally off a patient.
i mean you are sitting there in the angio suite and the tech gives you lidocaine in one syringe and contrast in the other...how easy would it be to, not thinking, shoot a nice bolus of lido IV and send the guy into a crazy arhthmia???
or what about simple left right switches???? i cant tell you how easy it is to make these on dictations...and the consequences can be disastrous. left perinephric hematoma..cant salvage it must come out..but i say right...surgeon barely looks at film..opens right...OOOPSSS... never happened to me im just sayin
i think is further proof of God that MORE people dont die in such situations. especially come july when all the new interns come in. i think God sends like 15 extra angels per person during those first few months. its the only way i can explain why more disasters dont occur.
