Expansion of Islamic Banking in London!

Salaam

Everyone seems a little quiet on this village & nothing much is being reported about Islamic Banking - an area of great progress.

Thought I would up date you all with some information I came across concering LloydsTSB who are offering Islamic banking at various branches throughout the country!

The branches, at the time of writing, are based in London (Edgware Rd), Birmingham, Luton, Dewsbury and Southhampton and are providing Muslims with a range of Islamic financial Services! (Current accounts - Mortgages)

LloydsTSB are particularly keen to expand in London and have now made these services available at the Eastern branch, Aldgate East starting from 26th of April (i'm based in Scotland, so dont have a clue where this is!).

At the same time, HSBC has also been expanding the availability of their Islamic products but I have limited information concerning their services! If anybody has information about HSBC or more importantly Royal Bank of Scotland please let me know!

If any further information is made available to me, I will update the journal accordingly!

The other obvious one to mention is Islamic Bank of Britain. Not much good to you unless you live in London I'm afraid as they don't have any branches outside the capital yet as far as I'm aware.

From what I recall they offer a current and savings accounts but don't offer any loan products (yet).
