Extemporaneous Dispensing

How stressful is extemporaneous dispensing?! I'm only in my second year of pharmacy and I've made a quarter of the drugs in the BNF ...well, not really, but you know what I mean (:

we usually get 3 hours to make 3 drugs ...and there's absolutely no extra time :s

The worst part is where we're given automatic zeros for making mistakes like writing 'apply cream to infected area' instead of 'apply cream to AFFected area' on the label !!

oh my lord! how harsh is that?!! does the life of pharmacist get any worse than this? I'm already freaking out about third year :s

lol Just wait till you make emulsions using the dry gum or wet gum method. Theres like a 80% chance your emulsion will break into the oil and water phase. I remember once in my final lab exam the girl in front of me had one of those and it broke. I just told her to add some dishwashing soap and voalaa, you have yourself a stable emulsion. Sure if someone drank it they'd die but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
