Facial hair

Does anybody know of a permanent way of removing any baby hair around the jaw line area of the face?..Somebody told me apparantly theres something you can get to wipe these baby hairs away..I am just wondering does waxing/removing this hair make it grow back thicker?..whereas at the moment you can't really notice it (but i know its there), removing it might make it worse..what are your thoughts?

Tanveer: I was just in Warwick on Xmas day. My friend's family lives out there, so we went there for the day. It has a cute downtown...nice mall right in the center of the city. I will have to think about this one ;) thank you for the info though..what are your prices like?

Try Nair face removal cream. It is a good formula that usually won't irritate your skin. Leave it on for 5 minutes and wash away the hair!

speaking of expensive, if its not much, it doesnt cost very much. I went to this place out here in nyc, they are charging me $50 a session since I dont have much to remove, just a patch or so...and I have to buy the whole package for 6 sessions...so its about $300 and the woman said that I will have to come back for touchups which is included in the price...so about 12 sessions would cost me that much! not bad...

I would recommend not to wax or remove it...if its light, just leave it. Believe me, I did the same thing, I removed it and guess what, a lot grew back and now I have to wax it all the time. It looks hideous. Well, now I am getting Laser Hair Removal done...so lets hope that it goes back to the way it was.

A side note before I respond...DazzilingStar, I think it is freakin hilarious that someonelse actually uses the phrase "us brownies" other than me...lol!

Ok I agree with Rosegold, I too have heard that IPL is great but NO laser treatment is guaranteed for permanent hair removal. Electrolysis is the best and is the most permanent on the the market. But if you barely got some, let that natural fur be :-)

Lol @ us brownies!..hahah

I only wax my legs, never wax my arms..fortunately I am quite hairless..The thing that annoys me is once I start as your quite rightly stated, I will have to continue..so what the hell..lets just leave it..its not really that noticeable..
Think I might try IPL for the upper lip thing..
Thank u all for the input..much appreciated..

Yeah its been like 10 years or more for waxing my legs and stuff over here...damn thats a lot of time spent with hair removal! Maybe laser is worth it in that sense, huh?

yes apparenty waxing does make the hair follicle weaker. Over time the hair growth may indeed become sparce. But it takes a very long time long time like a few years. waxing works better on body hair. have to be more careful on the face as the skin is more sensitive and over the years loses elasticity anyway so waxing anything on the face is just adding to that. Or so im told anyway!

yeah ive heard that but i think its an old wives tale or maybe true if you dont do it correctly.

but i have heard that waxing doesnt make it grow back stronger bc it damages the follicle over time? I know that the hair on my legs, face has gotten very sparse and i can even pick it off my leg if i let it get long enough (yuck haha!)

so someone google that! I dont know how to post links.

hello.
I'm gonna say what pretty much everyone else has already said!
The general rule is if it's not noticable dont touch it, at all!! Any treatment other than laser WILL make the hairs grow back stronger in time. Facial hair is specially stubborn in this respect. Asian hair growth for some reason due to our genetics is specially stubborn. The wipes you're talking about arent really designed for our hair type and waxing will make it grow back stronger eventally.

As for laser! im a complete advocate for laser. but first of all we have to realise that there is no such thing as permanent hair removal! (Sorry for dashing everones hopes). whatever method u use read the small print first. Laser promotes permanent hair reduction!! so over time the hair growth becomes less and less and finer so that u dont notice it anynore. Which is great too cos it looks like there is no hair there! I think IPL is great , well it works for me. But there are a few different types of laser on the market being used in different salons. shop around and find the right one for you! Get a patch test done first and see how you feel. These are usually free or at a very small cost. Also only a qualified laser practitioner is allowed to use a laser machine so make sure you check their references.
Laser is costly but if you're only looking at your jaw line it shouldnt cost more than ?100 a session, maybe less if you're lucky. But i think everyone is recommended 5 sessions at least. With 5 or 6 weeks between every session.
whatever method you choose . once you start you cant stop! Theres no one off solution so it is a bit of a commitment. Which is the annoying part for me personally. So again if the hair is not noticeable dont touch it. That way there is no need for maintenance! Hope this helps :)

BABE THE OLDER YOU GET THE LESS HAIRY WOMEN GET,, IF ITS JUST FINE HAIR THAT ARE NOT NOTICEABLE THEN JUST LET IT GO... WHY YOU GONNA GO AND RUIN YOUR FACE WITH LASER OR WAXING,,,, IF IT REALLY BOTHERS YOU, THEN JUST GET IT THREADED AND LEARN TO DO IT YOURSELF,,,,,,,

LASER SHOULD ONLY BE USED IF THE GROWTH IS STRONG OR DARK,,,,,,,, BUT MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A PROPER PLACE NO BACK STREET PLACES!!!

well there is a permanent laser treatment which is called IPL. and yes recently they made it possible for us brownies to use. its expensive u usually need to go for 5 to 6 times. but after that its gone. depends on how much and where u wanna do it. just say roughly it will cost u a grand!

I am really worried about re-growth..at the moment is hardly noticeable but I am a perfectionist and I know its there!..I don't mind forking out loads if I knew it will do the job!..

Have you tried just waxing it? Its not harsh if you do it right or just get it done somewhere. You are supposed to hold the skin taut and then rip off the wax strip so that it doesnt hurt you.

I do it all the time. I definitely dont have longer, thicker hair now BUT when some grows back its more noticeable (to me) bc it doesnt all grow back anymore...so there is clean hairless area and then some sparse regrowth. So I bleach that or just rewax again.

I would try waxing bc if its not for you you can just go to laser treatments after that. NO harm done but maybe saving you some big bucks.

Thanks peeps for your advice..I am thinking about that laser treatment..is it permanent..i.e you only need to have it done once? I don't want continuous treatments! and does it scar at all?

thanks God for not making me too hairy, the hair on my face, body are light brown so they are not tooo visable with my fair skin.

referring to your question, i think baby hair should be left alone, my cousin told me that she noticed when bleaching her face with jolen that the hair grew back longer and stronger.
Waxing pulls your skin so make you wrinkly quicker, also waxing can burn your face and is painful.

if you really don't want to ignore your facial hair then seek advise to have lazer done,

Personally, being a man, i think leave it alone because if its not noticeable then leave it alone, as i know the older one gets the less hair is left on the body,Your young, so don't experiment with too many products.

Before you wonder why i know so much about women's facial hair, reason is my cousin owns a beauty salon in London and she told me.

if its not noticable then i would say bleach it but if it really bothers u there is a permanent laser treatment called IPL. dont worry doesnt hurt....but it is expensive...but the whole thing is taken care of in a couple of sessions. but if u want the permanancy but dont wanna shell out all the money at once then i would go to for electrolysis.painful but totally worth it.
