Fake Cockney accents


Is it just me or do fake cockney accents by american actors really bug you? Dick Van Dyke (Poor sod for being named that btw) really messes it up in Mary Poppins.

Which other actors have done a bad job at it? Gwynith Paltrow didnt do too well either in one of her movies.

I LOVE THE TEXUS ACCENT....... BUT I ALWAYS PREFER THE PAKI ACCENT TO AVERYTHING ???

Whats up with Tricky's accent? I thought he was British but he has this wierd american thing happening with his accent. Bloody shamefull! :P

I do want to see The Libertine ("Ladies, I am up for it." Superb!)! Yup, I agree Johnny is a star. Bad accents: Don Cheadle as Basher in Ocean's Eleven. Truly awful, geezer.

It's not just the cockney accents but just the plain old English ones too. Madonna's English accent was appalling in 'The next best thing' with Rupert Everett (I think that was the film...), I have yet to meet anyone who speaks like that, even after living in London for 31 years lol

Hmmm... well, Johnny Depp's scottish accent was flawless in 'Finding Neverland' and I think his cockney accent in 'Pirates of the Carribean' was inspired by Keith Richards but again was just superb. He's my favourite actor, Sahadat, have you seen 'The Libertine' yet? (Congrats by the way!)

He's been accused of doing naff Brit accents but I really like Johnny Depp's renditions...!
