Don't know a lot, but I know he had many wives at the same time. He must have done it successfully, because most of his children spoke well of him.

Anumaim: Your Uncle is indeed, a team builder. Was he successful in managing them?

Rasunday: Perception is important. If you see positive in negative, you will live a much happier and peaceful life. That was what you father'sw family did. Others would be calling your grandmother names, she must also have understood her family before taking such an action. Other women would live a life of a begger, than take bold action to fend for her family. Courageous.

My father a son from a family of six was very young when his father passed, during this time the family resided in the states and my Grandmother found it very hard financially and emotionally to regain herself. There were very few jobs in the surrounding area and she had never worked outside the home. One day my father returned home form school to find his Grandmother waiting she never told the children where their mother was nor did she explain her departure. I believe despite age they knew she needed to heal and refocus. She sent letters and money to the family monthly and after a year returned, during her time away all children found work, took the younger children to school, cleaned the house, cooked etc. they became a team and grew in ways only adults face. I have often asked my father how he felt about his mother leaving if he was angry or hurt, he answer is always "No" that despite her departure they never felt they were less important or loved instead that they were so important she needed to go where the world would take her to build a new life for her children. When my father married and brought children into this world. I believe these concepts travelled his mind ,wondering what his reaction would be to loss of a mate a child. But also knowing the power of family, love, support and teamwork. When I think of this a lesson I have recently learned comes to mind, we make decisions with the knowledge we have at the time, looking at things from this perspective helps you to receive lessons easier. I do not believe her children ever judge her actions as wrong or right but simply that in which her spirit needed.

Funny enough, only last night we were just narating this story to our kids.

My wife's grandfather was a hunter. One day while he went hunting, he saw a big python. The snake attacked him, he started running.

While running he was able to get his knives out. Suddenly he turn, strtched his leg out to the snake who decided to swallor it. While the snake was at it, he sliced open a side of the snakes mouth downwards.

I hate snakes and could never have madu such a bold attempt. Now my wife is proud of his granfathers achievement (including walking to Hajj from Nigeria).

I have no such heritage. However, my mother's father had over 10 wives. Now that is an achievement to gun for. (A) (H) :P
