Fave book before the age of 15

ASA folks,

What is your favourite book that you read as a child lets say before the age of 15?

And have you since reread these books as adults? Was it still amazing, different, how so?

There was a television show based on Sweet Valley High. The actresses they got to play the twins looked way too old to be in high school. I never read the books but I read Sweet Valley Twins.

My favourite book was Anne of Green Gables. I haven't read it in about 10 years.
I remember reading Are You There God, It's Me Margaret. I read all of Judy Blume's books, and also the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary.

Enid Blyton's Malory Towers series, everything by Roald Dahl, The Chronicles of Narnia and the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks :) I still read the latter - they stimulate your sense of adventure. I also delved into "Anna," a grown-up novel set in Imperial Russia.

I could never pick just one...but some that come to mind

~A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
~Are You There God, It's Me Margaret...I loved
everything by Judy Blume
~Chronicles of Narnia
~The Hobbit
~Little Women...I was a Louisa May Alcott fan
~A Separate Peace
~I Never Promised You A Rose Garden
~Jane Eyre
~Sea Wolf
~Charlotte's Web
~A Wrinkle In Time
~The Little Prince (especially loved it in the original
French)
~ Velveteen Rabbit

I've found that the stories and books that captivated me most as a child and that I've reread over and over have universal and timeless themes...e.g. the Velveteen Rabbit...when you are truly loved, you're a little worse for the wear.

Ender's game by Orson Scott Card - One of the greatest books a boy can read. I still have a copy and never tire of picking it up and reading bits and pieces.

And of course, as a former colonial, everything written my Enid Blyton....

A wrinke in time was the first Science Fiction book I ever read...

And yes, The Wasp Factory was weird beyond belief...
