FAVORITE ALL-TIME PLAYER

In the last journel the Outkast brought up a good point about there not being a active player that really sticks out, no doubt there are players that are amazing and i wouldnt mind having them on my team, but i dont really see players who can put up amazing highlight films like players of the past...i was just curious to see who would you call your favorite all time player...

This was a tough one for me. We all know that Jerry Rice is probably the greatest player ever, and Steve Young (record-tying six passing titles) was an amazing QB, one of the best to play. I love Rice and Young, but in the end, I would have to go with the guy that helped build the 49ers into a Dynasty, and allowed both Rice and Young to succeed. I have to go with a master of late-game comebacks, ?Joe Cool? with uncanny ability to bring a team back from apparent defeat. It was so common that it simply became referred to as ?Montana Magic.?

Yeah but he really surpassed everyone about 95-96 onward and that's when I kind of fell off as far as being a full fanatic. I just didn't get to see him as much. Not to mention back then there was no DIRECTV or coverage of Detroit Lions games in the NY Metro area. They stunk. I mean isn't that the reason he retired early in the first place?

Hey, whatever man. Can't take away from his accomplishments and what he did on the field. I mean I'm gonna be honest. During Sanders's prime years, I was in a transition stage being away at college and all and didn't get to see much of him. I feel jipped for that. So, cuz of that reason, I can't hand him the honor of G.O.A.T. And Thomas and Smith were the dominant RB's of the early 90's and that's the earliest I was REALLY into the NFL and that's as far back as I can really say I remember watching the NFL. Around the time the G-MEn won their second Super Bowl in '91.

I said Marino below, so that's offense. For Defence, I'd go w/ Ray Lewis now, LT back in the day, and Butkus in NFL/AFL days! A mean, bone-crushing Linebacker can control a game if in the zone.

YO Amir man...how can u ever include Emmitt in ur all time favs....the guy is the best example of right place right time......if it wasnt for his O Line that herb wasnt worth 5 cents.....even Jim Brown said that Barry Sanders would be good wherever he went....on the other hand he wasnt ooo sure about Emmitt

Defense: Lawrence Taylor; offense: very tough question but I must say tied between Thurman Thomas/Barry Sanders/Emmit Smith (I know I'm gonna take heat for this). Sorry peeps, I been thinking long and hard for a few days now about this and can't make up my mind.

Dan Marino... just plain in his own league! It's near impossible to recall the names more than 1-2players on the Dolphins during his years, it was just him & his O-line against the world. (Ray Finkle doesn't count!!!)

I would definatly have to go with Deion Sanders, man when this guy was on the Falcons early in his career he just amazed me with his speed and amazing skill, he was the definition of a shutdown corner..He might have not been the greatest tackler, but with his athletic ability and how he was so fluid on the field always was fun to watch, in 13 season him having 51 int's isnt bad at all, and to cap it off for me liking him so much was his touchdown dances in the endzone, i've always tried mimicking his "1,2 step" dance move but that never worked out lol
