First Night...

Salaams girlies

Ok, so this is something i've been thinking of lately and don't really know who to ask so i thought i'd ask all of y'all. So like i know there are many forms of birth control...ie- pills, patches, condoms, etc. When one of "us" and by "us" i mean US born/raised muslims/desis/arabs/etc gets married, how do you know and decide what form of birth control to use? Do you discuss this with your fiance before the wedding? Is this islamically appropriate and to what extent before the actual nikah? How do you bring it up/ discuss it? Or do you just take birth control pills before the wedding so you don't run into any 'mishaps' on your first night? Or is he expected to take care of this and have a condom? Or do you just hold off and discuss this on your first night??

interesting topic...If it is too hard to bring it up, plan your wedding on the good days when you cannot get pregnant. Find out about your personal fertility cycle and work around it. If you have regular cycles, it should be easy. However, it is still an estimated guess. So talking and figuring out a way whish works for both of you is ideal. And i just noticed Bleech called kids watermelons......No no NOOOOOOo );

if you can't talk to your man about sex, you shouldn't be having it-even if you've got the thumbsup from the entire family and they're watching and waiting for bachay on the sidelines.

LOL @ Bleeeeachio

The polite way would be to engage ur significant other in a conversation about your future and then get his opinion on when he/she wants to start a family.

Feel free to use Visio or Power Point to draw a time line, do a cost benefit analysis and make use of your own decision charts.
