Salaam ya bloodySiklySword.. and I do mean that. Salaam, I mean: Peace be upon you, and peace be between us, be'izn Allah.
I introduced myself to you as a brother in islam. By your faith (if you are true to it), you are instructed by your and my ultimately respected Rasool (SAAWW) to treat me as you want yourself treated, and to find every reason to defend me against accusation, until I prove otherwise. For all you know, I might really be a conventional shia, or one who's riding the bleeding edge of shia-sunni co-existance. I don't know if its worth it for me to speak up though. My time is precious.
If you cannot raise yourself from the level of a typical closed minded so-called taliban who's looking for the next shia to kill so he can increase his already vast 'promised holdings' in Jannat, then there's no point in my continuing. If you're willing to engage in constructive debate though, we'd have to agree to basic human dignity in our exchanges.. not to mention innocence until guilt is proven.
You think my kind of shia is not the norm. Has it occured to you that the only shia who engage you are the hotheaded ones? That the vast majority of them might just want to be left alone by the likes of you? That like the initial muslims, and the jews and christians of centuries ago, they don't want their doctors, lawyers, judges and businessmen killed and butchered and kidnapped, ransomed and then killed anyway? You speak of this minority thoughout Islam's history trying to impose on "you" to (??) rule you..? I don't get it. I thought it was always the other way around. And look where we've ended up!!
The only shia that I, and any actual orthodox shia, will recognize are the ithna-ashari (Twelver) shia who believe in Ali (KAW) as the first Imam as designated by our beloved Prophet (SAAWW.) The kind of shia that my father was, which is the only shia I know, believe the Prophet (S) to be the most important human being who ever lived. He (S) _is_ the best of creation, bar none. His (S) noor was the First Creation, and everything else came because of it. Want proof? If you have the capacity to consider that I might be on your side, you've got an old JE of mine from 2003 to see this proved. Its the bottom JE on my Journal page right now (#5 of the 14 there) and its titled "QED: Creation is a love story". Read it, and see for yourself who and what I believe in. This is what any true shia would believe in. Not Alawis. Not the Zaidiyyah of yemen, not the Rafidhiyyah. Just the pure and true shia. Even they are maligned, so half of your accusations aren't even accurate. In fact, if you're so sure of your islam, then see if you can answer the question that is asked therein.
Now I have responses to every single item you mention below. I might even be a sunni/shia mix, but you won't discover that unless you speak with me the way you'd like your own elder brother spoken to. Which I am. I do not want to continue until you prove to me that you are capable of holding a civilized conversation with someone who _might_ be coming at your world-view from a different perspective. That I acknowledge I am. But I also acknowledge that I am headed in the same direction you (think) you are headed in. I just choose to go about it in a decidedly different way. I believe I see your perspective, and like it or not, I share it too. But you will not discover that unless you lay down your sword, and engage this scholar with the pen.
You dare to bring the name of the innocent Ali KAW in this debate. Realize that this same Ali who lifted his unbeaten sword in the cause of islam, threw it away when Amr ibn Abdwad spat on his face at Khandaq. This was the time when no one else would face this supposedly unbeatable enemy. Ali not only faced him, he bested him. And when ibn Abdwad spat on his mubarak face, he walked away in the opposite direction from his sword. This is your history, yet do you know what happened? Ibn Abdwad asked him if he wasn't afraid if he'd pick up his vanquisher's sword and kill him (Ali) with it. To this my Imam replied: "My same Allah who gave me victory over you once will give me victory over you again." Abdwad remained lying there, and did not dare move. Research this in your history books you are so willing to throw this way. This was Kullo Iman who was facing Kullo Kufr, by the words of your and my Rasool (S). Tell me if you disagree. When asked why he took his time before cutting ibn Abdwad's head off, Ali relplied: "If I'd killed him when he spat on my face, I would have done it in my anger, more for myself than for my Allah. But I was not there to kill for myself. I was there defend Islam. Which is what I did." This is the man I follow: a man who is capable of swallowing his anger, and realizing that there is a Qahhar who's Divine Anger is far greater than his own. Have you ever considered that in your own times of anger?
Jalal ad Deen Rumi said: "If in the darkness of human ignorance you cannot recognize the true nature of a man, look to see who he has chosen for his leader."
I have declared the leader I choose to access my rasool (S). My Madinatul Ilm (S) has declared Ali to be al Baabuha. Not the window, nor the skylight, or the roof. Ali is the door, the gate, the entrance. So sue me that I listen to my Rasool (S). I will follow my Rasool (S)'s words any day over anything you say. And unless you can convince me otherwise, I'll continue believing "Ana madinatul Ilmehi wa Ali un Baabuha" (I am the city of knowledge and Ali is the gate) and trying to enter this city through the declared gate.
You are welcome to your conceptions, but don't you dare put them on me, because they are nothing more. Now, do you still want to see what you obviously don't know? Or do you think you know so much that you stand not to gain anything in an exchange with a muslim who married a sunni Egyptian muslimah, raised his kids as sunnis, and even taught at a salafi high school for a year? How'd I be able to do that unless I was a seeker of truth? Read my latest JE, and you'll know where I'm coming from.
very quickly: it was a policy I had when u left me that comment..that I hide all comments just so they dont generate discussions when i'm 'not around'. i can choose whatever i want to with my journal section, or can u disagree?
this is all i can say for now, beside telling u that: this 'pacifist', polite Shia u..is NOT the norm. i know what ur books say, i see videos of ur scholars, i know the wars between them themselves, and this 'good natured' Muslim is not available among the true Shia. u may be one quiet by nature, inherently pacifist or whatever, but to say that Ali was like that, that Omar wasn't, that we can't be harsh with opponents verbally (while we can raise swords in their faces, and we all did..including Ali), all that is non-sense. u ppl think u know everything, that its IMPOSSIBLE for someone other than urselves to know more or something different.
U KNOW ARABIC???? PROVE IT AND I'LL FLOOD U WITH E-BOOKS AND WEBSITES, then let's see if u r a sincere seeker of the truth as u pose here..or not. no one with a brain that distinguishes him from animals...would stay shia after what he'd read that I can refer him to. but u ppl dont read! u'r afraid to be proven wrong!!! u want to keep on worshipping ali and his offspring and impose on us who to rule us, and the whole lot of fabricated stories and non-sense u believe in!
listen, no room for respect until u respect those who respected the Prophet dead and alive! until u respect the Prophet's wives!! until u submit that everything peculiarly Shis TRASH and GARBAGE!!! I am NOT DYING TO UNITE with u ppl!!! the most that can happen is to add u on our list of enemies!! BIG DEAL?? no!!! we can and will take care of u always, and we'll triumph as we're told in Quran and Hadith.
Declare innocense from the sick, corrupt Shia beliefs, then u'r my brother in Islam. Other than that, nothing will ever be between us but harsh words or bloddy swords.
Salaam Akhi. This is my second exchange with you.
I have been nothing but respectful towards you. Can I expect the same in return?
If you recall my first exchange, you will also remember that you did not respond. You hid my response by posting divisive content on a JE with non-public responses. How fair is that?
In response to this accusational site, I'll merely say this:
History is written by the conquerors. Messages are written by the ones with the means of conveyance. Sunni's have always been in power. Yet is that proof of their correctness? The west is in power. Are they in the right? Muslims are maligned in the west, yet you and I know how untrue that is. Yet to most americans, the historic lie is the only truth that exists. IS that not true ya akhi fid deen?
Could the shi'a not be similarly maligned? I mean, is that not a possibility? Some of what this site references is true, some are half truths, some are falsehoods and fallacies. But you, like a typical american (forgive me for making that analogy,) have no idea of the ruse that's been pulled over your eyes. It _could_ all be a lie, has that thought not crossed your mind? You may not want to know, because - to you - my goal is to get you prostrating before some inanimate object. You have no idea what's going on in that picture. You do not know what that song is about, which you laugh off. You do not know how Hafez became the amazing poet that he became, do you? You aren't aware of Hallaj's master, and what he taught. Even Rumi's Lament of the Reed is speaking of the same thing, but you don't care to know, do you? You do not know anything, yet you'll join the crowd in laughing your well-regarded head off.
Tell me, what should I do if I care? Shall I laugh at you, or with you? Or shall I, in respect, ask you to tone down your volume and engage in constructive debate. If, that is, you care to know.
Do not your siblings in islam at least deserve your respect until they are proven guilty? Or, unlike Allah, do you intend to pass final (and unalterable) judgement before the day of judgement itself? Standing on the shoulders of others, before you, who have cast the same judgement, is the same as being in Yazid's army, not helping Imam Hussain (against the promise made to our beloved Rasool SAAWW) when every one else is killing his family and then him. Nahi anil Munkir.
