For AmerMirza and all those interested in Yemen's History
Hmm.........
Well i will refrain from being the typical guy from northern yemen...
all are welcome in Yemen...
if not then my tribe would be at a lost...
hmm before i start the history lesson let me give u some definitions.
"Zaidi" = A Shia Fiqh, considered the Fifth school of thought. Based around Zaid b. Ali b. Husain b. Ali b. Abu Talib, Zaid's Sahaba proclaimed him the next imam because he was willing to fight against the umayyad tyrants. Twelver (Ithna Ashari or Jafari Shia) believe that Imam Mohammad Baqir was the next Imam after Imam Ali Zainaul Abideen, instead of Imam Zaid. Imam Zaid however Never tried to Usurp the Imamate and supported his brother Imam Mohammad Baqir BUT he did push his brother to fight. Imam Zaid paid a great price, Hisham govenor of Iraq stopped Zaid's rebellion in Kufa (Present day Najaf) And had him beaten and tortured then stripped naked and crucified then beheaded. After Hisham's death his son took Zaid's body off the cross and burned his corps. Zaid's son Yahya Followed in his father's foot steps and in doing so suffered the same fate. Imam Jafar As Sadiq , Imam Mohammad Baqir's son loved Imam Zaid and made sure that the families of the fallen warriors of Imam Zaid were taken care of.
Now "Al-Zaidi" are sayyid descents directly from Zaid b. Ali b. Husain b. Ali b. Abu Talib. Imam Zaynul Abideen had 11 sons and 4 daughters, from his son Zaid came the Family Al-Zaidi (derived from Zaid, Zaidi meaning "of Zaid" the Al- meaning "the" is for pointing out the word Zaidi as a family name.) The other 10 sons held the family name of Al-Abidi derived from Abid, Abidi meaning "of Abid" the Al- meaning "the" is for pointing out the word Abid as a family name. Abbud was Imam Ali Zainul Abideen's title because of his extremely pious nature)
now getting to the point about all this.
In Yemen both Zaidi Muslims and Al-Zaidis are found. the Al-Zaidi Family moved there shortly after Yahya bin Zaid's martyrdom. the Zaidis moved in when a Hasanid Sayyid came and Established a Zaidi State in North yemen, it lasted around 1100 yrs from the late 800's to 1962.
Both Zaidis and Al-Zaidis have a very Strong Yemeni Identity because of this and yet they are immigrants. thats why in yemen there are three classes Sayyid (plu. Saddah, Descendents of the Prophet through his only daughter Fatima and her Husband Imam Ali b. Abu Talib, Qabili (Original Yemeni) and Mazaneh (pretty much everyone else)
before all this everyone knows the arabs through Prophet Ismail originated in Yemen. only Two tribes survived and from those two tribes the arabs emerged. Qahtan (Southern Arabs) and Adnan (Northern Arabs),
Qahtan (Southern Arabs) Yemen, are from where the true Arabs continued and you have us today...
i hope i Didn't bore you with the historical bable.
if you were Curious about me i am Al-Zaidi thus meaning i am from Bani Hashim and sayyid.
So AmerMirza AHLAN WA SAHLAN!
you are most welcome in our home, Al Yemen...
