for every writer....
are these words we write nothing more than an outlet
because we havnt learned to shout yet
or are they suppressed emotions that havnt found their way out yet
trying to find the right words, b/c they havn't reached our mouths yet
because what starts as a thought slowly turns into spoken words
but before we let them out, theyre the equivalent of a broken bird
trapped in a cage, waiting to be free and heard
and if kept for too long, it dies and the goes permenantly blurred
I now watch that same bird as it prepares to take flight
and see the similarities of being inspired to write
because before the bird could fly, the wings must give it motion
sameway going through our lows and highs, triggers our emotions
and as the bird begins to reach a height higher than the clouds
these thoughts begin to find words inside our head that suddenly become loud
finally the bird reaches a hieght where it can say its proud
and after we look at what we write, we realize were no longer a face in the crowd
eventually the bird must come down again when the time comes
same way this feeling of pride we get slowly becomes numb
but as the hunger begins to set in, the bird takes flight again to capture insects and bugs
same way we need to write again, like were addicted to some drug
and we continue going through this cycle again and again
and after a while we begin to realize it will never really end
because a bird must contiunue to take flight to remain a bird
same way a writer must continue to write, so these toughts can be heard
because we havnt learned to shout yet
