Accidental condom inhalation.

A 27-year-old lady presented with persistent cough, sputum and fever for the preceding six months. Inspite of trials with antibiotics and anti-tuberculosis treatment for the preceeding four months, her symptoms did not improve. A subsequent chest radiograph showed non-homogeneous collapse-consolidation of right upper lobe. Videobronchoscopy revealed an inverted bag like structure in right upper lobe bronchus and rigid bronchoscopic removal with biopsy forceps confirmed the presence of a condom. Detailed retrospective history also confirmed accidental inhalation of the condom during fellatio.

Incidental inhalation of condom that is freaky, never saw that ..he he & MOMO was it Jay who tried that suction, I would think so??? would you like mentioning any of your own cartoon acts. Man I miss you all.

i totally agree that u r there to learn but then again if the patient or her relatives dont allow then ethically u r bound to leave the room as its their right. and there r countries cultures and religions where restrictions on a doctor r more than wat we can imagine. at the end of the day u have to do wat u can and respect everyone's thot and culture as well.

he he he Allah Rakhi, in my experinces ladies in burqa like male attendies. Vaginal Births with epidurals are so neat. 1, 2, 3 and baby out ( talking about the best circustances). There is not too much to see in a normal vaginal birth unless Dr. breaks the cord or half of the placenta is still in there and then they are searching for it with half their hand inside. The best is when they vaccum suction the baby out. I think that is amazing and it still scares me. so thats something you want to see Agent. One of the residents, just for fun put the same suction on his head to see how much is the pressure. He had a blister for days....and he had to make up stories for that......and offcourse none of us made fun of him:)

i guess so. but it sucks not being able to see anything in the OB/GYN rotation; all we see are cesareans.i have yet to see an SVD. i have been asked to leave every single time before a vaginal birth. it sucks.

well its not only us,many other cultures have even harder boundries. I loved my rotations at a Orthodox jewish community IVF center. Its so hard to get their wives' hx. and their husbands think all female nurses and doctors are menstruating so there is no way they can touch them. They even avoid holding the door a menstruating female touches. They used to come staright upto us and asked if we are menstruating so they can get another female. We had to tell them, so it was great talking about our cycles all the time;p After that, I truly think we are so blessed with our little cultural boundries.

its so hard asking people their sexual hx in this part of the world. i had this one patient (she was 18 or 19) and she came to the clinic with her mother who was clad in a burka. i started to ask the patient about her menstrual hx, and the mother stood up furiously, grabbed her daughter and stormed out. its the culture. but i dont believe it should stop us from asking these questions...
