foreign films...

ok ladies and gents... this village needs some MAJOR rescusitation! so here is my attempt: FOREIGN FILMS... are you a fan? have you watched any recent one's that you'd recommend to those of us who are a lil tired of hollywood?

i'll begin by saying my absolute favorite so far has got to be 'El Crimen Del Padre Amaro' - (The Crime of Father Amaro).... an incredible story that incorporates religion, love, and politics into one hell of an intertwined plot. real. raw and completely unfiltered.... and not to mention that gael garcia bernal from motorcycle diaries is in it and damn... M A S H A L L A H. :)

k..so ready? your turn... GO --->

"He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not"....really fun French movie starring Audrey Tautou (awesome actress if you ask me).....The movie is a trip in perspectives and nothing bad that you would normally find in French movies :0... :)

and I forgot to say...a fantastic film (!!!) "The Silence Of The Palace". The young female actress Hend Sabri makes this movie..she is someone I think who will cross over into the Western Film Industry if given the right films, like that Miss India actress in the movie "Bride and Prejudice"...you know Aishwarya Rai...I think she won Miss World as well in the beauty pagents.

lets see...."bicycle thief"...amazing small movie....anything by Luc Besson...french director...heard his "Taxi" movie is amazing, loved "Fifth Element" even with Bruce Willis....Gael Garcia Bernal is dreamy with those Mexican green eyes of his. I have to see his acting in the new Pedro Almodovar movie "Bad Education". "Women on The Verge of A Nervous Breakdown" by Almodovar is hilarious, but abit mad to watch. My personal favourite are the movies by Ang Lee "Man, Woman, Eat, Drink", "Wedding Banquet"...also independent filmmaker is Mira Nair is her first feature "Salaam Bombay"..I dare you to watch it, and not start crying, but same time its very positive, and abit flawed but Karma Sutra and Missisippi Masala have interesting ideas and storylines. Okay tired of typing.. :P
