FREE OUTDOOR SHOW w/ TRAVIS MORRISON


hey guys, i'm playing a free outdoor show on thursday july 28th at fort reno park. its right behind the whole foods in tenley circle on wisconsin avenue. come by, it starts at 7 and my band is headlining. we should start around 8:15. the show will start promptly at 7 and end right at 9:15 since the neighbors don't want it going late.

people bring thier kids and dogs and frisbees and so on. its outdoor so smoking is not an issue. pack a picnic basket as well, or get stuff from whole foods and walk over. taking the metro is a good idea too. the tenley metro station is only two blocks away.

my other band metropolitan will be playing fort reno on august 18th as well.

i love fort reno, its been a dc institution for about 40 years or so.

please come by and say hi to your local desi indie rocker.

thanks sooo much for coming, i was really happy to see you there. and the kids were cute!!!! thanks for the kind words after the show too, means alot. i was super nervous because guy and ian from fugazi were there. also justin moyer from el guapo/supersystem and chad clark and basla and ryan from beauty pill, and lots of other people from big bands i admire. and the turn out was great too. there were sooo many people there that i'd never seen before. thats a good thing. those high school kids up front were crazy, they were having alot of fun jumping around. i think there might have been like 3 or 400 people there. thank god it didn't rain. it was perfect, i've baked under the sun in the past at fort reno............. so i'm playing the last fort reno show with my other band, metropolitan on august 18th.

i have over the years only messed up once. the cassettes asked for a day i marked it on my calender and then metropolitan asked for the same day i said yes w/o checking. and so metropolitan used the old drummer for the show in philly, while i stayed in dc to play with the cassettes. juggling three active bands is tough. it's going to get even more crazy now since the cassettes are trying to be full time. travis morrison is fulltime enough already. i'm gonna have to figure it out.

dude, what if both of your bands are playing the same day, the same show, one after the other? what do you do then?
