Girly Sports - Manly Sports


Are there some sports which are classified as mainly for females or males?

For example, I would say boxing is definitely a MAN's sport/activity....ice skating, less so ...

Here in the US, soccer is regarded as a "girlie sport" ... despite the fact that the US mens soccer team ranked no.7 in the world and has once again qualified for the world cup (in 2006).

Would you refrain from taking part in a sport that is regarded more apt for the opposite sex in your locality?

i recall seeing snippets of a sport called "kabaddi" on paki channels - seemed like a desi version of sumo wrestling ... do women play "kabaddi" ?

I'm waiting for tennis to implement bikini attire for women. I heard they will require it in the Australian Open this year.

that baton twirling thing and gymnastics where girls twirl ribbons around endlessly.. they are girlie aren't they.. and synchronised swimming.. and cheerleading (ok technically not sport, but some would disagree)

just saw the fantastic Agassi Vs. Blake match - as agassi ages, his game gets better and better !
