gnarls barclay - crazy
While we are each of us unique, I would say that that uniqueness is limited to the details of our individual genetic code.
Of course, if you want to be extra specific about it then a genetic clone, were such a thing possible, would not have shared our life experiences that have brought us to where we are now. Therefore, it would not be a clone in the broadest sense of the world (or in a Hollywood-type way).
Nevertheless, there is something that I just don't understand. Why do we sometimes not value what is popular? For example, Gnarls Barclay's 'crazy' even? A co-worker told me that she was really disappointed that the song was now number 1 in the charts rather than a 'those in the know' treat?
Sunsets? Popular books? Movies? It sort of becomes uncool to like these things because we're all desperately trying to be cool. Many (and this includes me sometimes) think that liking something that others like makes us less unique, or rather, we don't like the fact that it makes us not that unique. And that is something we desperately want to be in our lives that are devoted to ourselves...
