Greencard Bride? ? ?
Hmm.. Confused..
Arab men only want Arab women..
Desi men only want Desi women..
Unless they want a greencard..
Or want to use you for money..
Or something else..
So, questions:
1.) How can you tell if a man is looking for a greencard?
- if he wants to come here, that's fairly obvious, but if he wants you to move there, slightly more subtle..
2.) Why would an Arab or Desi guy (in all honesty) want a non-Arab/Desi woman?
3.) How can you tell when a person is actually genuine?
It's soooo horrible to have such paranoia about people, but it happens all the time. Are there actually good, honest people out there? Or are all international "relationships" doomed to fail?

if a man has money that would be fine :P but it is the best or most important (for me) if he has faith (especially fears ALLAH (saw)! )...no matter which race
WHY!!!?
can some one explain!!?
let me say that the mainreason someone in the states would marry an arab girl is for her faith! so why marry somebody that will fleese him , with doubtful faith at best. Just because she speaks arabic!!
Thanks for opening the can of worms Keeper.
Girls Can you explain why would I distinguish an arabic speaker from others if their faith or spirtuality is average at best compared with a good american girl or other?
No bitterness here, I promise, but I personally would overlook this "looking for arab women" garbage for that reason. A girl from any other culture has an equal chance (if not better) to me IMHO.
Actually I agree with u on that point, as much I disagrees with u on ur earlier comment that all green card wannahaves's are basically A@# Holes.
Actually that a nice subject - Does arab guys have any guilt when they say the words I love you when they don't actually mean it.
:)
1- even if someone is looking fora greencard that doens't necessarily have to bea bad thing. it is if he is JUST looking for a green card, but as with every relationship, people consider things like "do i have to move? will one of us have to leave our jobs/homes/families?"
so a greencard is somethign that is only practical to consider.
2- arab guys run the gamut from stone cold to blissfully ignorant philanderous romantics.
i've met more than one of each. the blissful romantics (there are a million shades of grey in between) fall in love and fall hard with anyone. even though they jump from woman to woman as often as i change my socks, i truely believe they are in fact, deeply and madly in love with each one.
for them, they fall in love with anyone arab or non arab, and i am thinking of a very specific fashion designer in amman right now.
otherwise people can fall for whomever, don't necessarily have to be arab. so why would they want a non arab?
her smile? her laugh? her personality? her cooking? her body? her deen?
lots of reasons.
3- ... bah, who knows.
good luck!
I wouldn't advice to reject someone just because they don't have a green card. Just like I wouldn't advice not to consider someone because he's poor. But if you do, that's your own choice. And if you're too worried about it, then maybe it's better to be on the safe side.
However, I would suggest you do it on a case by case basis. There are a few early indicators and things you could look at (e.g. education, career, family background etc.) If you're worried that someone wants to marry you because of status, money, etc., then steer away. After all you have to "trust" whoever you will marry on your "self" first away from anything else.
I am not a green card holder yet and have been exposed to stero types and reservations of of people because of the paranioa you mention, BUT I feel its legitimate paranioa, because unfortunatly as I noticed here in the states that its acceptable socilly for arabs to do anything at the expense of anybody to get the CARD.
Few tips:
1- If u have a guy in mind, see if he ever applied to a green card, and if it was rejected.
2- Find if his status is legal in the country, or is he going out of status soon.
3- Does he have a succesful Job.
4- Is the relationship balanced, or he is trying to dominate it.
5- Make sure that he has to pay alot of money in case he divorces you.
I hope these tips help
