Growing pains.

i was about 5'7 when i was 15 and then i was 6'2 when i was 16.

i think i had realy bad growth pain but chalked it down to cramp coz i played alot of sport at that time.

did anyone else get growth pains?

Wow Waseem, now that's what I call a spurt! Did you find that playing sport helped in the long run though? I went through my growth spurt between the ages of 12 and 14... Every time I exercised, my knees would ache and tremble. Sam, I have stretch marks on my back!

Salaams Waseem..

I went through a similar experience.. was also about 5"6 at 15.. than 6"0 at 16.. I remember always having back problems in high school.. doctors assumed it was due to the growth spurth..though it gradually went away the next few years once I leveled out to 6"2 and started lifting weights...now, i mostly suffer from minor head injuries that occur from walking in small condo's or entering those 50 passenger planes.

you know...i'm going to physical therapy for this foot/achilles tendon problem i'm having and this 16 year old kid has been coming at about the same time as me every week. last week his mother inquired about why i was there and shared that her son grew about 5 inches in the last year and was experiencing a lot of muscle strain due to what his doctor called "growing pains" (i.e., his muscle growth wasn't keeping up with his bone growth). so basically he's been going to PT to stretch and strengthen various muscle groups where he has been experiencing pain. so, waseem, based on that tidbit i'd hazard a guess that....you are not alone!!!!

I had a huge growth spurt also when I was 17 (basically grew 4 inches the summer I turned 17!!) but no growth pains. I did get alot of strech markes however for growing so fast in a short period of time like around the knees and stuff.....does anyone else have stretch marks?!
