haircuts for hijabis
anyone know a good place to get a haircut (with no men present)?
people are unbalanced, they dont understand the equilibrium. Everyones bad is over weighing their good.
ppl push envelopes because this lust dwells in ones inner nature. You cannot alter ones nature. If i cee bad around me, my duty as a muslim is 2 call it out, correct errors.
Princesam: The hijab is loosened;) And I agree with you on some of the points you made. I just think that there needs to be a balance.
People interprete modesty in very different ways sometimes. I have been known to push the envelope in my day. And to be honest, it was kinda nice to see that a guy can recognize and speak out about some of the not-so-great ways some of us interprete modesty.
Princesam: Picture this if you will. You marry a hijabi. You are really excited to see her...all of her. She finally removes her hijab. And Lord have mercy, instead of the most beautiful curls...there is a matted mess.
Why do you ask??? Because she didn't think it was important to take the time on doing her hair because she always kept it covered.
And that sir, brought us to the very topic of discussion;)
why don't you go to a gay salon in dupont... heheheh... i know this one guy, he's indonesian, muslim, and gay.... (here come the replies..... gulp) that should work right? problem solved, i must move on to my next issue.... the mid-east peace process..... hehehe
There's a salon in Tysons called Suissa. Its downstairs in the food court and there's an elder lady in the back room and she cuts hair and does waxing for hijabis. Most of my friends go to her and they look great! Check it out! Here's their phn# 703) 893-5800.
Thanks for asking the question. I never thought to turn to Naseeb for this. I have just been getting my hair done whenever I go back home.
Hafsa, have you gone to JcPenny? If so, are they any good? I am of mixed heritage...Indian and Black. Not many people can handle the texture of my hair.
I know this Jordanian Lady who does hair from her home.. very well known in the Dar Alhijra Community.. She lives off of Columbia Pike.. lemme know if you are interested and I will give you her #
there's a salon called mancini de paris (its in arlington). if you call and ask, they'll set you up with a private area for a haircut by a female. only thing is that they dont have a private area where they can wash your hair beforehand.

They're great. That's the only place I go to. They shouldn't have any problem with your hair, but I'm not sure about that either. Sorry hon.
