A - I have not seen where it ways you can eat pork skin/bones. Please show me the hadith/verse/fatwa.
Ofcourse there are people who don't want all that (skin/bones etc.), so I am offering services for people who want it and if you dont then its your choice.

Its interesting how you think i am trying to "use" the faith to markete my products. I think its just a perspective thing isn't it? You could also see it as offering a service for Muslims who want it. Ofcourse i am not making it sound like that you have to have these products or else you are not-Muslim. Again, i am offering a service to Muslim community, is there anything wrong with that?

Thanks Nidalio, it is exactly for people who care and are picky about it, very simple. If you don't like it or don't want it then don't bother with it (not you, i m saying that in general).

Actually if something is made up of ground down pork skin then yes many people have said it is ok bc the Quran is VERY specific when it says that we cannot eat the MEAT of the animal! It does not say anything about the bones, it does not say we cannot wear the skin. And YES alcohol is a sauce for example is permissable as long as it reaches a temperature above the boiling point for alcohol bc then it is no longer alcohol.

My issue isnt with the service you are offering. My issue is with the way you are offering it. It implies that there is something wrong with everything on the market. There is nothing in any of the vitamins that I take that are not permissable to me, hence they are 'halal' anyway. They dont need to be labelled as such to be such. I think when you are using an aspect of faith to market your products you have to be VERY careful.

I can't gurantee other people but i can gurantee myself that yes they are certified "halal' and if someone has a doubt in their mind, i am not putting a shot gun on ur head to buy it. I am offering something and if someone wants it fine, if not then ite their choice.

---- I wasn't asking for opinions whether "gelatine" from pork skin/flesh is halal or not. I am offering a service for Muslim community and if ya'll don't want it or don't like it then aint my problem.

BTW: If you want to be 100% halal you can be. There is no better place to be 100% halal than the US.
IN Muslim countries people are not even aware of such things cuz of lack of education. Being halal takes a lot of effort, but its absolutely doable anywhere you live. Question is always not whether you 'can' or not its always do you 'want to' or not. Very simple.

you don't have to move to a Muslim country, because most of the supplements and vitamins are not made in Muslim countries! its just a saying 'move to a Muslim country". Islam is universal and can be practiced anywhere as long as you have the desire. And i am aware that Grapes are used in wine but how about grape juice instead of the real wine. So does it mean i can put some wine in my food just for taste. I mean at the end "Sharab" is not haraam the effect of it is. But the reason it was made haraam because we are all human beings and if you drink a little there is always a possibility that you'll go over ur limits at times, so it was simply made haraam. So is pork. So you are telling me that i can eat stuff made of pork skin as long the amount is relatively small?
And if you think it makes it 'halal' then please bring a fatwa from a valid imam, because its just ur opinion it seems like and don't take it personal.

Niddy my point was that there is an implication that all other products out there are not 'halal' which is incorrect. There is nothing wrong with most of them to begin with.

Excuse me I didnt say it was OK to eat pork. But you are taking things out of context. You need to look at exactly what is stated in the Quran and then look at the actual substance. Gelatine is not the flesh of the pork. In the same way, grapes are not alcohol. They can become alcohol. And then even alcohol at a certain temperature is no longer alcohol! So the sarcasm isnt necessary I am very well aware of what Islam states about Pork and alcohol!

and then another point, if you can't find something w/o pork, then it is permisible because you aint got a choice, but when you have a choice then its not.

i have looked into it and as i said its prefrence. anything with pork/alcohol to majority imams and muslims is haraam, i have not seen any fatwa or anything regarding stuff derived from pork is halal. Sounds pretty funny. So if you feel comfortable with it, go for it. But ofcourse there is a reason for "halal" everything and Koshor. Anyways, if you don't want it fine by me.

I have not had time to read all of this but pork gelatine is debatable, as there are many scholars who says its permissable. Not everything to do with the pig is automcatically haram! Also you need to be very careful about labelling anything to do with fermentation haram too. Wine vinegars for example are not alcoholic - so you need to look more into that.

Note: The sources of ingredients as mentioned in the books and encyclopedia may not be true sources for certain ingredients because the food industry uses the least expensive sources for the food ingredients. The best example is the Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is used for fortification of milk in USA and Canada. It is obtained from Sheep's wool Lanolin not from fish source as mentioned in the books.

Well, most vitamins out there are not "Halal". Some or all have "Gelatin" which is animal based. Could be derived from pork or other animals which is not "halal".
Also a lot of other things depends on what type of vitamin it is makes in not halal.
So we offer 100% Vegetable based vitamins and even if we use animal substances in there, we use halal meat so that we can provide "halal" products to Muslims. But ofcourse its only for people who care for 'halal'.
