chances are more than one of you have hiked/ran half-dome at yosemite (not really much of a technical climb)... wha'ts the fastest you've done it?

i did something crazy two summers ago and drove there from san jose on 3 hours of sleep to meet a friend; hiked all the way up, stopped, took pictures, tightened my camelPack, ran down, :) and then drove back the same afternoon (to try and catch a jagjit singh concert in oakland that evening. lol). had the most glorious sleep that night!

This hike was not the fastest, but the craziest definitely. It was on shasta. It was july and very hot. I thought the jacket was redundant. You see its all about carrying light. :) When I started the summit hike the next morning, it was freezing cold. So, I wrapped the fleece liner from my sleeping bag as a 'shawl'. My hiking buddy, also an Indian, called me 'Devdas'. Made for one hilarious pic.

Last year i hiked Half Dome in 8 hours. I had a friend and her 11 year old son with. I set a comfortable lead pace and on the way down tried to run with the 11 year old. I stopped after 30 minutes - ran out of water and my body rebelled :)
